And for some reason, they really dropped down with X (which is a great disc) and then each subsequent release just did worse and worse. I don't have Elegantly Wasted or Switch. Are they worth getting, if either of you have them?

I do have both. It's more in the Alternative Rock/Pop style, rather
than their New Wave style of the 80's and early 90's. I don't recomend
it if you're looking for more of their old stuff. I like both, but well..

I doubt that this will ever be my thing because the vocals are pretty horrible but I enjoyed this for the music more than I have in the past.
You find the vocals on Yeti bad?
Not just bad, but bordering on horrible. Almost unlistenable. I bought this album about 10 years ago and listened to it once or twice and pretty much labeled it the worst album in my collection I thought it was so horrible. I dusted it off and listened to it again and I found the music to be better than I remembered but the vocals were still horrible.
Allow me to disagree then. While I certainly don't find them great either, they're pretty far from diminishing the quality of the record.

You are quite allowed to disagree with me , but it still doesn't change my opinion. I find the singing on there to be horrible. It is most likely that my brain and ears aren't wired correctly but that is my take on it.

That Battiato is a real grower. It is one of those albums with great atmosphere throughout. I can see why you like it. Got Pollution and Fetus on the way, should be here any day

oh yes... to say I adore it really doesn't do it justice. The first track still knocks me sidewards and backwards everytime I listen to it. A real piece of auditory art.
Hope you like the first two... drop me a PM and let me know what you think, I am not around much these days.
For me... an album I dislike.. never liked. just got a wild hair to listen to...

Well I am at the opposite end with LA Woman it one of my favs from that time but you are talking to a Doors fan, Texas Radio and the big beat for me is up there with the other big songs on the album. I agree about that first Battiato track it must be that one rythmn.
