That's an insult to Larry Harmon and all the fine gentlemen that have played BOZO in the past. |

I hate political threads because after I post, everyone hates me. If you really want me to speak my mind I believe we're in for another Jimmy Carter.
Not only do I think the spending (stimulus) bill won't get anything moving (aside from more government spending), I think Obama's acting like a total baby. A few days on the job and he seems overwhelmed, and he certainly isn't acting like a leader. He's giving his comebacks to anyone who opposes his bills, and he isn't acting like one of the better presidents. Not to say that Bush was better on those fronts, but Obama's really bad. Please don't hate me. |

Let me be the first to say..... So far I agree with you. However, where our country is 2 years from now should tell you a great deal about Obama. Patience, young grasshopper. |

Yeah, I agree with Raff. That's one of the most disgusting attitudes you can hold.
I hope Obama does well, I just don't think he will, unfortunately. EDIT: apparently Raff deleted her post. Too bad, it was a really good post. Edited by Pnoom! - February 09 2009 at 16:27 |

I hate to say it but Obama forcing this stimulus package through without little discussion is smelling like Bush and his Bank bailout.
N.W.O my friends. The banks own the government. When that happens there is no liberty or democracy. |

Last time I checked it was blessed are the cheezburger makers, to them will go some really tasty cheezburgers of their own making. For some strange reason I am feeling rather hungry now for a particular sandwich. Edited by Slartibartfast - February 17 2009 at 15:03 |

I hope you're not referring to my post. Looking back, it was a little too hard. Anyway, I think the same here. I don't want him to fail (*cough* Rush), but I ultimately think he will. Edited by progrocker2244 - February 17 2009 at 15:06 |

Well, the repubs are doing their best. The Gingrich-ization Of ConservativesFrom the presidential campaign to his election and inauguration, President Obama often pledged to reach out to Republicans in an effort to change the bitter partisan tone in Washington. "The monopoly on good ideas does not belong to a single party," Obama said last month. "If it's a good idea, we will consider it." Indeed, in the run-up to the passage last week of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Obama acted in good faith by preemptively including Republican-favored tax cuts in the original House version of the bill, meeting personally with House and Senate Republicans, and stripping stimulative spending initiatives because of GOP complaints. But conservatives ended up taking their cues from hate radio host Rush Limbaugh, who declared early on that he hoped Obama fails in his effort to rebuild the economy. As a result, Obama received support from just three Senate Republicans, while zero House Republicans voted for the bill, with many participating in a campaign to perpetuate myths and falsehoods about the plan's specifics before the final vote. Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA), one of the three Republicans who voted for the package, said bluntly that the GOP risks becoming "the party of Hoover" because of its near complete rejection of the stimulus. But while Limbaugh is leading the rhetorical battle, conservatives appear to be looking for political strategy from former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich. |

Obama is coming to Canada tomorrow on his first foriegn visit for 8 lousy hoursand the security is insane. There`s a no fly zone from 8 in the morning to 6 at night over Ottawa and Parliament Hill and vicinity will be cordoned off and all businesses shut down, snipers on rooftops etc c`mon man. I mean does the Secret Service actually think that Canada is going to assasinate the President Of The United States? The only political assaination I can think of which occured in Canada wasn`t really a political assasination. It happened in 1868 and the victim was Thomas D`arcy McGee he was in the process of quiting politics in order to join the civil service. There was only circumstantial evidence against his "assailant" and the scapegoat was hung.
What are you Americans so frightened ? I could understand this level of security if this was Kabul or Bahgdad. But this is Canada man. I think Stephen Harper should go down to Washington if there`s such a big song and dance. What a waste of resources. |

Were kind of more worried about home grown nut jobs that might be hanging out in your country. You remember hearing about the Palin rally where an audience member shouted out "kill him"?
