Yeah I know. Now I want to know the musicians behind this. Any band that has an album art gimmick like this MUST be good. |
It's the album Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective. Have a listen: Songs from Merriweather Post Pavilion: My Girls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zol2MJf6XNE Summertime Clothes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQZsr4QcW8E Other great songs: Leaf House (From Sung Tongs) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylrmS6ayKv8 Grass (From Feels) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAGhozAzfQg Fireworks (From Strawberry Jam) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6KPDWNAPBU

| Man...I own all their studio albums.
I need to dig those out. I love almost every song.

Definitely a band to check out if you can't get enough of classic '70's ELP, but probably not much further beyond this album.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

^I would say first Illusions and then Spartacus, Spartacus is a bit lighter in virtuosity and phenomenal composition, IMHO, still great.

Agreed. Mediterranean Tales and Old Loves Die Hard are decent as well. Pompeii has some good moments but they took one of the biggest nosedives in prog history after that. A La Carte and Russian Roulette are just awful. Yikes. I would also recommend Trace if you like Triumvirat. A little more classically influenced but it's sheer joyful exuberance is infectious. Now playing: Van der Graaf Generator - Still Life (1976)
