Dakar is the capital city of Senegal, located on the Cape Verde Peninsula, on the country's Atlantic coast. It is Senegal's largest city. Its position, on the western edge of Africa (it is the westernmost African city), is an advantageous departure point for trans-Atlantic and European trade; this fact aided its growth into a major regional port. ![]() oh, for heffens sake i giff up...

I used to but that's a fat lot of good.Too close to Crimedon (Croydon) and Crystal Palace F.C (boooo!) for my liking. Anything to do with ReR Records perchance? Edited by Man Erg - February 11 2009 at 11:49 |

A couple of years ago I worked round the corner from ReR in Thornton Heath and would drop in once a month or so to pick up a cd or 5. There is usually only 1 person around form 3 -4 hours in the afternoon from Monday - Friday - they're nice people but the 'Megacorp' part of the name is definitely tongue in cheek.
The area isn't as bad as everybody's making out, but I'd think twice before wandering round there after dark.

That's pretty cool.
Actually, I used to live very close to Wayside's office in Silver Spring, Maryland - but that was before I even knew what Wayside was. ![]() Edited by NaturalScience - February 11 2009 at 13:21 |

infamy at last!!
![]() A PUNK rock legend who wrote an unflattering song about Wiltshire’s county town of Trowbridge has defended his tune. Please Don’t Put Me on a Slow Boat to Trowbridge is the title track on former Stranglers frontman, Hugh Cornwell’s new album. He talks about Trowbridge being like the Black Hole of Calcutta and asks not to be sent to the town, promising to mend his ways. News of the track met a pretty hostile reception from civic leaders, but most of the comments on the Wiltshire Times and Chippenham News’ website seemed to be in agreement with Cornwell. He told the Wiltshire Times: “It has always been my view that, as a songwriter, I should highlight things that need discussion. “I find it’s a healthy thing to do, it creates debate. “Trowbridge is a bit of a paradox - it’s a very historic place, one of the oldest towns in Wiltshire, it’s mentioned in the Domesday book, but it’s denigrated a lot by many residents.” Cornwell recently appeared on Radio 2 to promote his album, HooverDam, and joked about the town’s one-way system and said everyone he had met from Trowbridge did not like it. “I’ve never met so many people who have agreed and put the town down,” he said. “The one-way system is just one of the things wrong with the town - what’s going on with Mount Crushmore for instance? “I’ve got very good friends who come from Trowbridge - one of my best friends used to live there.” |

Yes, I've been to Croydon and I'm still here... I did go about 5 or 6 years back though.
It looked a bit rough but not that rough. |
