Good day all. As this is my first ever post to the ProgArchives forums let me begin by saying
"How ya doin' eh?"
And that will be the last of the obvious Canadiana !
While I certainly consider myself to be a truly patriotic Canadian I have never considered myself to be the Canadian stereotype that is often painted. Yes I wear a toque, but only to keep my ears warm. Yes I like hockey, but I don't play and don't own an NHL jersey of the Leafs or Habs. Yes I do say eh, probably too much to support my claim of not being a stereotypical Canadian. And no, I don't live in an igloo or own a dog sled team.

I have been involved in the music business since I was in my late teens in one way or another. First as a huge fan of progressive music, then as a sound engineer for a touring symphonic rock band. I have spent many hours over the last several years reading the ProgArchive site and expanding my knowledge of those bands which had previously eluded me because the radio broadcast industry is too (expletive_up) to give progressive music it's due exposure. (here end'th the rant)

What I hope to get out of this venture into the ProgArchive community is still more knowledge of progressive bands and maybe even a few buddies who share my penchant for independently produced music. I am therefore happy to offer (for a very limited time) free copies of the BUSKER - Northern Fantasies CD the first 10 people to respond who are willing to write a fair review of this material for the ProgArchive site.

I hope I'm not breaking any cardinal sin by making this offer or by seeking a little free promotion for the band. But this is a piece of Canadian prog which I belive deserves more attention than it can get through "normal" channels (ie: radio play), which as we all know (even sattelite stations) are only interested in "commercial sounding pieces".

So thanks for taking the time to read my first foray into the ProgArchive forest. I look forward to meeting many of you along the path.

Opps, sorry, I just read the conditions of this forum and maybe this one doesn't belong here. Would the appropriate authority please make the required change.
Thanks, and again, so sorry. I'll have to do a little more reading next time

Greetings on the site!

Yes, you've gone astray, but don't worry, an admin surely will move it to the right place.

I'd suggest reading this topic:

I'd be interested - if I can find the time that is. I'm more of an honest rather than a fair reviewer though; so no promises can be given as to verdict and rating. As one of two writers for the progressor web site I could probably get the CD in line for a review over there as well; if that would be of interest.
