Sorry - I didn't fully explain how my second image was different - I reversed the animation so it rotates in the opposite direction.
What?

Damn.  Here I was going to tell him that I had special magical powers able to reverse the animation of the shadows.  Cry

Anyway, I see it both ways.  Sometimes she spins clockwise, then I look away for a bit, come back and she's spinning counter-clockwise, then I look away, come back and she's doing handstands.  Anyone else notice the handstands? Confused
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

yeah I got that, shadows are still different in Doc's images regardless of what direction she is - or is perceived to be - going in

I cast my final vote - both, but clockwise is prominent.  There is definitely a point in the sequence where there is a direction change.

My head hurts.  I voted counter-clockwise, but now that I look at it she seems to go both ways.

I just split it into frames, looks clearly like a counter clockwise rotation around an axis. The fact that the figure is 3d but entirely black is what's confusing everyone.

^ Ha - spot-on Ansen,Clap I completely missed the fact the image is back-lit (kind of shoots down the theory that right-brained people would see the image rotating clockwise - artisiticly inclined people should interpret the light-direction and shadow angles correctly, so see the image rotating anticlockwise)

Initially it's rotating counter clockwise.. until I started reading the comments, then I can switch between the two. If not trying to, it goes counter clockwise...

Yeah it seems to me that there is a definite point where it changes.  I think that it is just supposed to screw with people and make them think the change is in their head

Okay, this was strange...every time I've seen this before, I've always said, "DUDE! What are you talking about? She always spins clockwise...farging nonsense it is."

So I look at it here, sure enough, the little twerp is spinning clockwise like there's no tomorrow. I look up, look back down again...

THE LITTLE TRAMP HAS CHANGED DIRECTIONS ON ME!!!

What giveth?

that would be something to do with the persistence of vision - try looking at it through squinted eyes.
