The liner notes say that he was trying to form a "Hopper Goes Dutch" band.  He also thanks Elton Dean for writing Seven for Lee, which was probably the best song on here.  I'm not familiar with that song though, so I am not sure if this is a cover or a first release on a Hugh Hopper album.

Your album is from the early 90s, right?  Yeah, "Seven For Lee" was written by Dean in the late 70s.

It was recorded in 1987, so obviously it is a cover then.

Well, we finally got a little snow - only a few inches mind you.  Took me only 30 minutes to shovel the driveway and walk, which suits me just fine.  Tongue

Very nice. I'd do that too (I quite enjoy the subgenre) but my day would only consist of the two albums (wait! 3!) that I own

Never heard Shapeshifter; the other two are indisputable masterpieces.

You've got yourself a big shopping list though.  Wink

Shapeshifter is unofficially Radio Gnome Invisible Pt 4 - you should check it out. And yes, I'm aware of how much money I need to spend Wink

Glad to hear it!

I'm usually happy all the time, but I'm aware that I'm very fortunate that my circumstances permit me to do so.

How is Shapeshifter?  I'm unsure how to approach post-70s Gong.  I might just download some since I'm growing low on cash now.

What circumstances do you mean?

And I think the reason I am happy is I had lunch with some hot girl who I found out is really into philosophy and cool music.

I could use some more Gong - not too much more though.  Probably Camembert and a few PM Gong records, but this Shapeshifter does sound interesting.

Basically just a "life is good" type of thing:  great career, wife and (soon to be) 2 sons, plenty of prog, etc.

Camembert Electrique is about equally awesome as Angel's Egg and You, and better than Flying Teapot.

IMO, of course.  It serves as a good prelude to the RGI trilogy.  I don't have their early album (Magick Brother, or something), but I do have a bunch of bootlegs and their BBC live thing.  God it will rock to see them at NEARfest.
