Indeed. I need more than their first two albums though.

I'm going with some Zao.

What exactly are Zao like? I've been thinking of sinking some time and money into more Zeuhl than just Magma, Koenjihyakkei, and Ruins.
|
Most of their material is pretty laid back in comparison to the majesty of Magma or the ferocity of Koenjihyakkei. The one shining gem, in my mind, is their Live! record, after Yochk'o Seffer left the band.
Didier Lockwood plays violin on it and it might be his most brilliant recording (and being a Magma fan, you know that's saying something). The energy level is just so high, plenty of fuzz bass and Fender Rhodes drenches the whole thing, it's just so epic. I'm sort of in a minority in loving it, though.
|
Might check them out then. Any other Zeuhl bands you could recommend off the top of your head, Pat?
|
Dun is essential, if you don't already have that. Yochk'o Seffer's Neffesh Music is outstanding, I think the album Ghilgoul is readily available, others are near impossible to find though. There's some other Zeuhl that I myself need to check out, such as Happy Family and Eskaton, which are held in very high esteem.

Curved air?

Straight air

Air can be straight and curved?
|
It can be broken as well.
|
You can trace stuff in it too.

Traced in Air is really great but I still think I prefer Focus.

Ah! I forgot Weidorje, another Magma spin off, put this in the essential category as well.

God, females have gotten me riled up lately (no not you June, real life people:P) Last Sunday, I go pick this girl up from the train station, within 5 minutes that poor sodding bitch starts arguing with me about useless crap. I literally had to restrain myself from beating her over the head with my skateboard, she really pissed me off.

I understand. I don't like girls much either because of that. I have no close female friends because I can't stand chatting about self help books and reality TV with women.
I wouldn't mind being a lesbian so much: most girls are cute and usually smell nicer than boys, and they (usually) don't have itchy facial hair either, but gosh, they're sooooo boring. And ENOUGH WITH THE HORRIBLE AND GROSS PREGNANCY STORIES!!!!!

You saying that strikes me as funny for some reason.

I have Weidorje and Dun, and both are fantastic. I was thinking of checking out Happy Family and Estakon as well based on what I've heard. Thanks, Pat!

two more: not technically zeuhl, but zeuhl-fusion: One Shot. along the same lines, get Francois Thollot - Contact. Both these groups feature the current Magma bassist, the incredible Phillipe Bussonnet.
