I have hardly any money, and the HC boxset is first priority. I also have to get Ex Anima copyrighted sometime soon too.

Back from my joyful quest to be a domestic goddess...

If you could only see how sparkly clean that toilet and that tub are now! Dead

As for Zappa... well, he's, obviously, an acquired tastes, and as far as a know, not particularly melodic, so I can see how not everybody would like him.

I have to clean my own bathroom and room, so I know what you mean there. That stuff isn't easy.

Societal conditioning. That's all it is.

That's one reason why I particularly hated pop music, because it made easily brain washed idiots think that if music wasn't melodic and didn't have melodic catchy hooks it must suck.
Some of the deepest and most genuine emotion can come from the most un melodic, atonal music, but people just don't give it a try because of what they were made to believeDead

Oh absolutely, I agree with you there, but still, not sure how you can change what? a thousand years maybe? of Western musical history just by stating that Zappa is amazing. It's been so long like that, it's beyond societal now, it's genetical...

I think Quella Vecchia Locanda is quite melodic, but would you call them pop?

I never said I wanted to change it on a grand scale. It may be pretty far ingrained, but I'd still never say it's genetic. It's environmentally conditional.

With that being said, I still think not a whole heck of alot of people would enjoy the album I'm listening to right now, even with better conditions.

I'm not necessarily saying  very melodic music automatically equals pop, I was saying that the way pop music is marketed, it makes people believe the only good music is melodic and music with melodic catchy hooks.
Hell, right now I'm listening to Swedish melodic death metal, which centers heavily around melody, but this is still hardly pop music.
