Well, my dear hubby used to have an MP3 player... You want to know what happened to it? He left it in the pocket of a pair of jeans, and it ended up in the washing machine . MEN!

OK, so I just thought I'd let you all know that I have found a thoroughly marvellous deal on an MP3 player (can't you all tell I'm not in work today??).
Anyway, I've had it with carrying a Sony Walkman CD player around the hostel while I'm cleaning, so I asked around for the ideal companion, and came across this little beauty in a massive Argos sale:
Argos is by FAR the cheapest for this model at the moment, and the 16gb memory will hold almost half your prog collection...RESULT!!..

Hope you enjoy the Sony. I've had my HDD 20Gb for three years or so now and it has been great. In fact I liked it so much I went and got another 5 off ebay. Talk about future proofing or what ?! .
These little devices are definitely my can't do without gadgets and the battery life is excellent. In fact there is still another 5 hours play left when the battery indicator starts flashing. Also I can listen to the albums on the computer as well.

Come on Raff. Did nobody tell you that it's part of your wifely duties to check our pockets before putting our trousers in the washing machine?

I've had a Sony NW-A3000 hard drive walkman for nearly three years now and can recommend it above one of those flippin' ipods. |
I like my iPod... sorry...

So which one was the brains of the gang?
On a sadder note, John Martyn is no longer with us:
Solid Air and One World will be getting a spin or two this evening.

Is Lynryd Skynryd possibly the most unlucky band on the planet?
Ronnie Van Zant RIP - air crash
Steve Gaines RIP - air crash
Cassie Gaines RIP - air crash
Allen Collins (paralyzed from the chest down: car crash) RIP pneumonia
Leon Wilkeson RIP - emphysema/liver disease
Billy Powell - RIP (heart attack)
Artimus Pyle - no comment
I think if my name was Gary Rossington, I'd never leave the house

i don't think it's down to bad luck, Jim - these guys, and rock musicians in general, live pretty risky lives -
the air crash was pretty horrific, losing so many members of the band together, but many stars use aeroplanes like we use buses. many stars have been killed by air crashes.
life on the road - burgers/junk food, late nights, motels, booze conducive to heart and liver trouble.
drugs, booze - John Bonham and Jimi Hendrix both died swallowing their own vomit while sleeping off drink/drugs.
it's a wonder any survive past 45
the 9 to 5 glass-of-wine-a-month with wife and 2 .5 kids in Esher would have a healthier life, but which is best - a long quiet life or a short life as a hell-raiser?

Should I be worried, or checking the pension or something?
