Wow. That's not a bad suggestion, but right now Amon Düül II is flowing, later Gilgamesh and a Piano Concerto by Prokofiev. I've gone mad about them.

Which Gilgamesh album?

Both are excellent. Big smile

Both? I have three, I think. LOL

The self-titled.

Three? Shocked

The self-titled is the Snakes and Ladders cover, isn't it?

Yes.

And I have three. LOL

Gilgamesh
Another Fine Tune...
Arriving Twice

Oh that's right, they reformed and released one in the 1990s.  I forgot about that. LOL

I have the first two... but need them on CD. Ouch

good evening boys... I hope you don't mind my crashing, but I thought I would just tell you about my unconfined joy...Big smile as some of you will have gathered, I have had a day off today, and have been flicking around the intrawebz in search of an MP3 player...

and have come up with this baby...

the cheapest deal for this model online (believe me, I've looked..LOL) and at 16gb, it should hold about half of your collection...Approve unless of course you happen to be James, in which case you wouldn't stand a chance...LOL

anyway, I'll pop back later, on the Albinoni trail (before this page starts to glitch, and goes down in flames...Embarrassed)

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Very cool player, J. Cool

But less Albinoni, more Prokofiev.

Good deal Jared, looks like about $140 for that player.  Hope you enjoy it - I know once I loaded up my iPod (80 GB) with my collection, now I can't do a work day without it.  (Incidentally, I'm using about 55 GB of it right now, so still plenty of buffer, but I could see a day coming when I have to start culling some stuff out).

Is this the new gen Sony with MediaPlayer as part of it?

The old ones apparently had a bit of a crap system.

Actually, Jared, I've only got three albums on my mobile 'phone (which is also an MP3 player) and I rarely listen to it.

Univers Zero - Ceux du Dehors
Magma - Retrospektiw I-II
Battles - Mirrored

I used to have Bone - Uses Wrist Grab on my old 'phone.

Not experienced enough to tell, but I've just taken a deeper listen into Prokofiev and it's magnificent.

I tend to go for chamber music over choral and operatic pieces.

I do like Peter and the Wolf mind you.  I'm not overly familiar with his work, mind you.

Yes.

There's like six people playing clarinet and it's just madness.

John Zorn plays on it.

Hello.

8 inches of snow and 1 of ice. Definitely not common around here!

When were we talking about either of the abovementioned? LOL

I tend to agree with you, though, at least by my current preferences. Choral is fine, but I'm as good as blank as far as "operatic listening" goes.

Going back tomorrow though. The stuff finally quit an hour or two ago.

Over 750 schools in our general tri-state area closed today.

I can't think of any school that's open.

There's a level 3 snow emergency in some counties too, which means... if they catch you out on the streets they can give you a ticket.

They don't want you out there. LOL
