Oh and the GG album is great too.

I don't think I have that Hopper album... although I have heard of it. I have a Hopper album on vinyl too and need it on CD as well but it's not easy to find. And isn't there a lot of avant there, Rush4Fan?

Oh wait, you're talking about Gentle Giant... So what's that Yes song about Cameras?

Nope, I don't have Meccano Pelorus.
I'll add that to my list.
It's Monster Band I have on vinyl. Do Wayside have that, perchance?

Both bands have a song entitled that, but they're different compositions.

Technically, only 2 of them are RIO/Avant: Sotos and Ahleuchatistas. The others are listed as Canterbury, Eclectic, Psyche, and Jazz/Fusion, but that isn't to say that some of those don't lean the RIO/Avant way. I figure I may or may not like them, but I'm not against giving them a try.

Hugh Hopper will be avant.
Ahleuchatistas is math rock/avant-prog.
I prefer Upsilon Acrux though.
Chronometers is also avant.

So in fact there's no Canterbury in your order.

Yes's Camera isn't horrid, but it isn't Yes (though I do love that album)
and Pat; yeah Present are awesome, Certitudes blew me away, in ways better than UZ

I cannot decide if I prefer Present or Univers Zero.
I think I prefer Shub-Niggurath to both though.

I am now. I was watching a Werner Herzog film. The music was by Popol Vuh. Except there's two bands with that name... so erm, I guess it was the German one. Good film too. Very weird and full of odd imagery.

That's neat. I'm just finishing up King Crimson's Discipline and scanning some notes for school. I think in a few minutes I may go for a little, but I'll be back. I think I'll listen to Egg when I get back, since that sounds good. First listen!

I was reading about Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinksi online... I'm done now.
I'm waiting for something to come television at 2:30 though.
Plus at 3 a.m. is a repeat of a programme I started watching earlier but was interrupted by a 'phone call. A very interesting programme about Charles Darwin. I saw the end of it and it was fascinating.
So I maybe quiet.
Genetics is really interesting, it has to be said.

Indeed, I've been doing a little reading and schoolwork though so I haven't really been here.

Chris, your avatar alludes to those people being the actual Math Rock Team and it makes me giggle.
