I'd quite happily drive about in a Model T.

But no, I'd have one of these:

No, I'm marveling at the fact that the parking lot was empty! That never EVER happens in Vancouver

Does Canada actually have any form of Car industry?

If you made cars, they'd be called the Rush Cygnus X-1 and the Rush Cygnus X-2.  The cheapest model would be the Dion Morrissette 1.0 3-door "hot" hatchback.

I understand why you'd find later-era Holdsworth boring.  I'm not so much into that guitar-jazz fusion so much.

Although the album I just listened to had that style of guitar playing in places, it had lots of other stuff going on.
Soft Machine, yes, but they're Canterbury, just like all my jazz related avant stuff is RIO/Avant. :P I was talking about the jazz fusion category here. Mahavishnu is pretty good, I'm planning on buying Area, and there's always Miles but most 've heard from the subgenre sounds like they're playing scales, including Mahavishnu at times. Brand X, RTF, Colusseum, Weather Report, it all sounds the same to me.

Frank Zappa has disappointed me in the past, but I am really enjoying Ship Arriving Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch. I should have gotten that instead of freaking One Size Fits All. I'll never understand why so many people said Inca Roads has such a great guitar solo..

Which ones is King Kong on?

I've only ever heard covers of that and it's great.  Is the original as jazzy and good?

But one could argue late-Soft Machine are jazz rock/fusion as well.

But yes, I know what you mean.  A lot of it is noodly guitar-orientated jazz.  Like Niacin.

King Kong is Uncle Meat, which I don't have, although I probably should.

I only have Third from Soft Machine, which is enough to say that I like them, but I don't know anything about their other music.

Fun fact: my thread on whether Zappa should be in eclectic appears before his main discography page when you put Frank Zappa into the main search. GOOD JOB MAX!
