Hello.

Pale Nudes?  Don't have anything by them.

Didn't Denio do vocals for The Science Group?  I think I have something by them.

I'm listening to The Science Group now.

The (ec) Nudes and Pale Nudes are pretty much the same band... both have Denio in them.  Wadi Gysi plays guitar in both too, I think.  I don't think Cutler is in Pale Nudes.  I'll have to check.

I have the album you're listening to now.  Great stuff, I'll try and remember to play that one soon.

How hard is it to understand that they don't strike a chord with me at all?

They're unintelligent and CHILDISH. Seriously, read the lyrics to Killer and tell me they're not absolutely god-awful. Stern Smile

That's his worst lyrics though. LOL

Doesn't matter. Pick any song. Say "Man-Erg".

"The killer lives inside me/yes, I can feel him move"?

How hard is it to get past your head that someone else doesn't like something that you do? Why do you have to insinuate superior tastes above everyone else all of the time just because they don't like something that you do?

This is REALLY starting to drive me nuts around here. I don't like VDGG and I'm constantly asked about it, whereas everyone jumps on the DT bandwagon and anybody who likes them is a childish fanboy. Angry

Can't we just enjoy music and not completely bash each other all the time, even if it is subtle?

Better than HC in many respects, in my opinion. Wink

Awesome lyrics and vocalisation. Big smile

*sigh*

You don't realise I'm not being serious.

Well I am being serious about Hammill being superior,

But I'm not being serious about Labrie being terrible.

And you said you do like some VdGG.  I remember you saying so before.

I can stand it, and I enjoy some parts, yeah. Godbluff is the best one, but frankly I could go the rest of my life without hearing any VDGG again and I wouldn't care.

I think someone has swapped your VdGG albums for William Hung's.

No, I'm positive that they're VDGG. Wink

I'm not. LOL

Even people who don't like VdGG say he's a great vocalist... except you. LOL

That's the problem with VDGG for me.

1. The music is bland.
2. Hammill makes it even worse by being bland half of the time and laughable the other half. His lyrics, on top of that, are easily some of the worst lyrics I've ever read in my entire life. And, trust me, I read along to all the lyrics on ALL of their albums.

Now, not liking Hammill's voice, well, it's a challenging voice. I suppose people don't like it for the same reason I find Angherr Shisspa a bit tedious... it's about the details. Saying the music is bland... well, personal opinion, and it took me a long time to really get VDGG from a musical perspective... still not sure I fully have.

But about the lyrics... oh lordy...

Just saw Alex's post above, so crossed out muchly.

Still, the lyrics comments are quite frustrating for me as a whiny pseudo-poet/poet-analyser. It's a bit like someone saying Petrucci is a bad guitarist. It's simply not true. People are free to not like Petrucci's style, but they have to admit he knows how to play. Ditto with lyrics... if you don't like Hammill's lyrical style/content, fine, but it is simply not (at least with VDGG, a couple of his later solo albums are shaky) bad if you have any idea about poetry/scansion/prosody etc... .

Nothing that occurs here can try my patience like my boy, who has now learned the fine art of talking back to his parents.

As long as you haven't moved house?

I won't send you anything... there's no way you'd want my Coheed and Cambria album. LOL  That's a tough one to get rid of.
