Makes no sense - it's like a bully 12-year old who picks on everyone else and then cries when he scrapes his knee.

Like I said, in the long run doesn't that hurt them and not you at all? Think about it.

Seconded. Just watching the 'Dark Shot' DVD at the moment! 'Ewaz Vader' live = fantastic. ...Er, anyway... Hello everyone.

You're talking to the most stubborn person on the planet
Whatever, that wasn't my arguement anyways. Well, I'm out to go cool off and ... do something else .
All I'm saying is that people shouldn't pass judgment on what they
don't understand in context - and if they do then they shouldn't get
defensive when their opinions become a two way street, open for
criticism from the other side. Yes - sure, it hurts them in the long
run because they won't hear the music - if that's what you're talking
about - I think think that if one side of the arguement can be peaceful
(the non-RIO side usually is) then the aggressive side should shut the
f**k up about it.
You see polls like "Worst DT album" and "Is Rush better than a boot"
(okay, I haven't seen that one, but it wouldn't surprise me) - but the
moment someone questions the more avant it's all - "You don't
understand it, that's why!"

Take care, man. Again, I understand your point, but there's no use getting upset about it.

That's good. Sometimes it's good to have an uneventful day for reflection. I'm doing well. Lost starts back up again tonight for the first show of the 5th season, so I'm really excited about that, since it's my favorite show ( barely ahead of the Simpsons, and I love the Simpsons to death). I'm also excited about composing, since I'm doing composing for two different groups now. It's perfect, since I was just about hitting writer's block for CoAM temporarily, so I have another outlet for creative opportunity now. It's great to be working with other musicians to create something lasting and unique.

Haha, reflection, yes; otherwise known as daydreaming, staring out of the window, and checking one's email instead of doing work! Hm, I'm totally out of touch with TV. I don't have one currently and have found I don't miss it in the slightest... more time for music and books (...and some good old fashioned timewasting, probably!). Cool, how is the composing going? Is your other project different in style to CoAM?

It's going very well. Yes, it is different in style, but it will have my input, so inevitably it will have segments of my style (whatever that is) in it. I'm working with two people who are members on PA, actually---Branden (MrEdifus) and Robert (Epignosis). It's alot of fun; we just started a few days ago.

I used to feel the exact same way. But then I vented and got over it before going back to normal. Hell, I listen to a lot of Tech/Extreme prog metal. And you know what kind of reception that gets on here. The typical "Oh, it's only semi-prog" crap. I just ignore anyone who bashes Rush simply because they sound "more mainstream".

I only joke about Rush though.
Sure, I'm not over keen on them but that's personal taste. They're a good band.
Besides, I love Neil Young and Bob Dylan. How's that being an elitist avant-whore?

And I don't get excited about television. I don't get excited about much at all, not even brand new albums by my favourite bands.

Now see, the fact that you like Lost in Hawaii more than the Simpsons is why I can never take you seriously.
|
Lost holds special meaning for me that the Simpsons doesn't, and vice versa. Hard to choose, but in the end I'd have to. I love the Simpsons though; I've seen every episode 10+ times.

Indeed, it is imperative to let the mind wander occasionally! Think of all the great ideas we wouldn't have if we always paid attention to what we were supposed to be doing...!

'Tis true. 200-odd channels still can't compete with the piano, really...
