My God. Patrizio Fariselli is really in Stewart territory for my favorite keyboardists. I am just continually stunned time and time again.

Hi Melissa! I'll definitely check that out after this album completes.
How are the wedding plans going? |

Very cool - simple is best, no question about it. Ours wasn't really, but the day still turned out perfectly. I'm listening to Maledetti now - I saw that a couple of albums after that are available from Amazon mp3, so I might have to grab those shortly. What do you have from UZ, by the way? I would like to get a lot more of their albums. |

Ah, great. How is 'Maledetti'? As good as the previous studio albums and 'Are(A)zione'? UZ, I only have the remastered debut, 'Heresie' and 'Ceux du Dehors', of which I probably play 'Heresie' the most often. (Although I really like all of them!) I definitely want more of theirs at some stage. Took me a while to really appreciate UZ but I think that makes their stuff more enjoyable in a way. |

Hey guys.
One of my friends was talking about how Can's Hallelujah is considered to have one of the earliest hip-hop beats. Listening to it now I can totally see it, very funky and also futuristic, but hip-hop esque nonetheless. It's so fantastic. ![]() |

I'd listen to it except I don't like that album at all.

Trout Mask Replica [Straight, 1969]
I find it impossible to give this record an A because it is just too weird. But I'd like to. Very great played at high volume when you're feeling sh*tty, because you'll never feel as sh*tty as this record. B+ The. Greatest. Review. Ever. Period. |

Tago Mago is fantastic. It took me at least 3 spins before beginning to understand it.

That's about how many I gave it. I must have a lower level of understanding. ![]() |

Not lower, just different. Sometimes I "get" avant-garde stuff before "getting" more conventional stuff, it just depends on the person. I think, given time, I could get into almost every musical genre. |

Odd, as I seem to have little trouble with other "avant-garde" artists, but Krautrock just has never appealed to me that much. |

![]() ![]() I was listening to that yesterday in my friend's dorm. We both don't like the "talking" songs, but think the album rocks. Right now, I'm listening to a dream pop playlist I made. It totally rocks. |

I'm not sure I don't get Amon Duul II fully, I love their debut and more conventional stuff, but Yeti and Tanz der Lemminge never seemed more than "good" although I know they have potential. For me, I think it just depends on the band. Sometimes different portions of a genre appeal to me more than the genre as a whole. |

Now ADII "Wolf City", there's a fine album. That's definitely my favorite of the scene (or rather, of what I've heard of it). |

Wasn't there a thread awhile back that talked about a rap band sampling a Can song in their song? I can't remember the details but this discussion made me think about that.

Here it is. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=52684&KW=sample&PID=3004307#3004307 Apparently, Kanye West sampled a Can song.

I'll read it and offer clappies, as always, but did you ask them by any chance why did they made three quarters of a mainstream bore that's incomparable to Milliontown?
