According to Pain of Salvations website, the new DVD Live/documentary will officially be released on February 27th, and the legwork seems to have been done in recording the new album as well.

Thanks Andy! Clap Calendar updated.

I was looking forward to that in a couple of weeks too! I don't think they have let the retailers know of the date change either as they still quote January.

Especially good news about the new album as well. Woot!! Big smile

Steve, if you go over to the Hourglass website, they have the artwork and track listing for their new album.  Might want to put it here.  Listened to myspace samples and sounds great.

Hey John, thanks very much for the information. I'd completely missed it. Four years in the making and a double album! 2009 is going to be a very expensive year but I am not complaining! Big smile

I'll post the details in a separate post below shortly.

Steve, just saw the Subsignal news.  Thanks.  Demos sounding pretty nice.  That old rhythm section of SE was a beast but I like getting some keyboards in their sound.

Saw you gave Subconscious a listen today. Wonder why? Wink

I should be ashamed for plugging a band using this thread but on this occasion I'm not going to be.

Implosion

Last year I was fortunate to find Fragile Vastness and Astarte Syriaca. (and btw if you haven't bought these and you are reading this thread YOU should be ashamed too! Big smile)

This year my first purchase is the debut from Implosion "Lucidity In Quietus"

....and omg what a debut! Seriously it has blown me away in a similar vein to my first DT, PoS purchase many moons ago.

Do yourself a favour buy it, its available via CDbaby, Amazon or via d/l through Itunes or emusic. You won't regret it, I promise. Awesome talent. The 17" track "Redemption" - brilliant! They deserve your support.

Official Press Release : Across Tundras "Herds of the Fathomless Valleys"
Current mood:  awake

Hello friends,

Across Tundras started recording a batch of songs about 8 weeks ago with no set agenda, minus one song that we had to finish for a split 7" with fellow rockers US Christmas.

The original thought was to take some of the songs from these recordings sessions and self release them on a limited CDR EP. It became apparent when we started mixing and sifting through all the material that there was much more than a EP worth of well recorded, cohesive songs. So we decided to properly press and release this new CD (plus a few covers and new versions of old songs) ourselves and call it "Herds of the Fathomless Valleys."

"Herds of the Fathomless Valleys" (credit Washington Irving) is ten songs of epic, crushing panoramic rock and haunted folk that spans over seventy minutes. The tracks were recorded @ Headley Grange USA and are the first AT recordings with "The Nashville Sound," aka "The Dixie Earthmovers," along with longtime contributor Shannon Murphy on vocals. The production and performances are some of our best yet. Look for a late February release date and a special pre order soon!

Here is the tracklisting (not neccesarily in this order) :

1) Tectonic Shifts
2) Lake Bottom Blues
3) Badlands II
4) Julia Dream (Pink Floyd)
5) Plain Old John's Song
6) Weary Travelers Rest
7) Ramblin' II
8) Death Dealing Man
9) Blackbird, Blood Red Sky (single version)
10) Where the Wild Roses Grow (Nick Cave)
+ secret bonus track
