The 80s period had really, really great albums.

I've always listened to the 80s Rush more, Permanent Waves - Hold your Fire = gold. Although I wouldn't recommend those albums to all prog fans.

Grace Under Pressure is definitely one of my favourite albums by them. Such intensity.

I always considered them as sort of high quality pop-rock, well certainly stuff from Signals on anyway.  That there is not a very high prog quotient (if any) mattered little to me.

Everything is superb except Red Lenses, which I hate.  And Rush fans always yell at me for it, but there it is.

Likewise. Although they do still have their moments from time to time.

I don't hate it, but I agree it's the low point of the album.

Shocked... well, I don't love that one either, but it's fun.

Kid Gloves... I love that song, although it's not really 'me' LOL. Actually, it took me a very, very long time to warm up to Afterimage.

Alex's solo on that is blistering, one of his best.

Distant Early Warning and Enemy Within are two of my most played tracks when I rock out with the bass guitar. Not a single session goes by without playing them.

I listened to my vinyl of Fly By Night the other day and it gave me a whole new appreciation of the album. I need more.

I also have "Archives" which includes Rush, Fly By Night (so I have 2 vinyls of that one ) and Caress Of Steel

Oooooh, you're missing out.

I didn't even like Fragile until I heard it on vinyl. Not to mention they're hella cheaper and you can find obscure stuff easier.
