Very good. Waiting for an e-mail, editing a fairly boring video, getting ready to go to work later and listening to some really old cds of mine

Awesome.

Today's my last day of break, so I'm having a Dream Theater marathon and going to get my stuff ready later.

Besides the occasional listen to 6D, Images, or SFAM, I gave them nearly a whole year's break, and I'm glad I did. I needed it, because now I can appreciate their music much better now.

I listened to Systematic Chaos 3 times yesterday because it clicked with me. LOL

SEE!? I'm not crazy! It's a great album!

Although if they do another song in their "AA Saga" I'm going to kill them

I actually like the AA saga.

The Glass Prison = MEGA epic
This Dying Soul = Mixed, but still good.. the worst one easily
The Root of All Evil = pretty good
Repentance = epic

And yes, SC is amazing. I'll probably do it again later today, but for now it's Octavarium.

I'm just getting sick of them. Glass Prison was great, Dying Soul was good, Root Of All Evil is okay and Repentance makes me reach for the skip button.

and if you ever use epic as a synonym for "great" ever again I WILL kill you.

No, I am, but people who say "epic" annoy me. I'm used to hanging out with nerds, you see, so everything is "epic" this and "epic" that.

A CAN OF COKE IS NOT EPIC, PEOPLE!!!

epic |ˈepik|
noun
a long poem, typically one derived from ancient oral tradition, narrating the deeds and adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the history of a nation.
• the genre of such poems : the romances display gentler emotions not found in Greek epic.
• a long film, book, or other work portraying heroic deeds and adventures or covering an extended period of time : a Hollywood biblical epic.
adjective
of, relating to, or characteristic of an epic or epics : England's national epic poem Beowulf.
• heroic or grand in scale or character : his epic journey around the world | a tragedy of epic proportions.

That's the dictionary definition, not my own

An epic progressive piece would typically fall under one of those anyways - either one of the first two, really.

"something that is lengthy and grandiose" - pretty much.

which is why saying something "is super-mondo-epic" is ridiculous
