Well, quoted verbatim from the forum rules:

"...personally directed insults, denigration, etc. will not be tolerated..."

It's like a vicious circle.. the only solution would be to tell people to stop f**king around with these "jokes" and start thinking about how far they've gone.

I admit I am quite open here.  I don't keep my emotions in and I have said a few things in the past that may annoy people.

However, that's no reason for people to hold a grudge (even if they're supposedly joking) and say things about me that others may not understand and then get wary of me just because someone has said something that isn't even true.

It's very silly, I know. Especially if it's true what you say that people have continued to do this up to now recently.

It's not as prevalent as it used to be.  Granted.

It's just a few members who should know better (in light of their position).  Yes they may be joking but as we all know, many people have thoughts about others and just bring them across in a light-hearted tone, hoping the victim will not notice its malicious intent.

I'm kind of curious as to what in particular brought this emo moment on???

I think most jokes about you are regarding the fact that you have the highest post count, which I suppose could be both a badge of honor and an albatross in the same time.

It's not emo, and it goes beyond silly stuff about post count.

Is this stuff happening in the Collab Zone? Because I have no idea what you are talking about if you mean something recent.

I believe it was in The Shed.  I hadn't poked my head in there for quite awhile.

Yes, but there are other things I noticed in the Collab zone that are unrelated... they are much more emo but still annoying to me.

However the main issue I refer to is warranted and Pat understand why I say this.

Oh I see that in The Shed now. I have an acerbic sense of humor sometimes, but that is more than a bit much...

Yes... the thing is, I haven't posted in there for ages.

I make a post specifically about that Tubular Bells BBC Television performance and then get accused of visiting there just 'cause a 17 year old girl has posted. Confused

It was just a coincidence that she posted there and I wasn't even aware she had until that comment was made.

Dunno. Looked like a joke rather than an accusation to me/I didn't really see the offence, but never mind.

It's more about a pattern than the isolated event.

Yep.

I have been given a completely incorrect reputation as some sort of cad and I don't like it.

So I'm single and 28 years old... so what?  I don't leap on every new female P.A. forum member. Confused  I may well speak to them but I have much more decorum than most people and don't make silly out-of-date quips about women (that often).

It also has something to do with them being Grumpy Old Men who don't like anyone over under 40 coming in and drinking their fine British ale or port or whatever it is they call those dregs.

The thing is though, I share many of their Grumpy Old Men sentiments.  I watched Grumpy Old Men on television the other day and now I feel as if I was born in the wrong era.  I should have been born in 1945 or 1946.

I think you mean under 40 actually. Wink

But it's not just that, I assure you.
