That was indeed epic.

I never realised the lineup until I looked it up.

I recognised Ratledge, Jenkins and erm Frith (although I didn't realise it was him, it just looked like him).

I instantly recognised Oldfield (obviously), Ratledge, Hillage and Malherbe but missed some of them. Nice seeing Jenkins in there. Really underrated musician.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Minimalistic avant. Right there. You've got the attitude, Pat.

LOL, well I was listening to chamber prog while painting

Not quite as good, but nearly there.

I still think Ozrics would have been better. Tongue

PSYCHEDELIC PAINTING, MAN! Shocked

Bah, go review some Zeuhl.  Tongue

I've been too lazy over my break to review. Tongue

I thought with ALL the time that I'd get a bunch of reviews in... I've only done like 3 or 4 over the whole break. LOL

Oh and I recognised Hillage but couldn't remember his name.  His hat was distinctive. LOL

Indeed. LOL

Seriously though, I'm a huge workaholic when it comes to when I actually work. It's really funny that I'm a prog REVIEWER, because I'm not much of a writer to begin with---I'd rather do math problems than write an essay, but I'd rather write an essay than give a speech or presentation or skit---so I don't work as hard at reviewing as I would something else I would be much more enthusiastic about.

Nonetheless, I do like reviewing occasionally and I go through spells. Usually though, when I find something that I'm going to take the effort to work on, I tend to immerse myself completely in it until I accomplish what needed to be accomplish (or more), which can lean on tendencies of obsession. The motivation has to be there though.

I only saw the back of Ratledge's head and I'm disappointed in not recognising Geoff Leigh 'cause I see his photo almost every day on Facebook (seeing as he's my friend on there). Embarrassed

And Frith had a ponytail, that was a shock! Shocked

His playing stance, haircut and glasses being over his hair made him instantly recognisable. It was weird to seem him play the grand piano though. Hard to imagine Ratledge withough a fuzzed and metallic organ sound.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Yep.

There was some organ in there too... but that may have been Greaves or Hodgkinson (who I didn't even notice).

And was that fuzz bass playing by Frith or someone else?  I know Frith plays bass and guitar on it.  I think Frith played the guitar solo actually. Big smile

I believe the organ was by Greaves.

And yeah Frith played the fuzz bass. There was more than one guitar solo. My favorite one was played by Hillage but Frith also played one.

Clap

RIP in bossa nova heaven.
