Just finished watching the BBC4 programme on the Hubble Telescope. Ever felt insignificant? All those zeroes. Gets you thinking though. Like - are we the only 'life' in the universe?
If we are - why are we blowing the crap out of each other?

Mick Taylor as well, apparently. I recognised: Steve Hillage (in the woolly-hat) Mike Ratledge (keys) Karl Jenkins (possibly, it was too brief to tell) Plus what looked like a long-haired Frith but I don't think it was. Edit: I just checked and it WAS Fred Frith: 30/11/1973, Mike Oldfield, BBC TV Studios, Shepherds Bush (Second House BBC Performance).

I didn't even notice Vicky's arrival actually. But welcome, Vicky, it's a pleasure to see some younger Brits here. I go to a Goth meet-up once a month (although it's on a break 'til March/April for the time being) but am not especially one myself but I do appreciate the scene (which is actually very diverse). Never feel marginalised and keep to being who you are. Also good luck with the child and I sure he/she will give you hours of love and fun. |

More to the point, is there intelligent life on Earth? I think we should be told.

Weather watch notice - next Sunday night/Monday morning looks like a good day to get the washing done. Dry outlook with a temp of 9 degrees with a 15 mph sou'westerly wind according to the Beeb. Renewable energy - the way to go!!??

flippin' heck...
you go away for three days and when you return, your beloved retreat of middle aged solice has turned into a Kindergarten...hadn't we specifically created a Shred Room for such purposes??...
anyway, Welcome Vicky, although I do feel sorry for you... not being old enough to remember when Queensryche were actually a 'great' band, which turned out imaginative music, rather than the derivative, 2nd rate drivel they've managed during most of your lifetime...
anyway I wish you all a very happy new year...
if I haven't done so already...

Err no. The Shred Room was created to have an intermediate room between the kindergarten and the big boy room. I missed with the location however, since it was built right next door and then the walls came tumbling down.
