Rush wins this for me, as they still produce quality material (yes, I like Snakes and Arrows very much).

That doesn't mean Led Zeppelin is not awesome, though. :)

That would be tough for me too. However, this is Rush. No-brainer.

Well it's a prog site so it shouldn't surprise you at all. A decent prog band vs. the greatest band of all time. Rolling Stones  for me.

Zepplin is basic, like Floyd Crims Yes Genesis

I like Rush, but they got no place near Zep.

I've been lucky to see both Zeppelin w/Bonham and Rush. Both technically excellent bands but I have to go with Zeppelin.

Zeppelin for me,didn't have a bad album in their discography where Rush certainly have.I really like Rush but i seem to think that most people are voting just cuz they think Zeppelin are overrated. Its not gonna be my most popular theory.

I honestly haven't heard enough Rush yet to make the call, but I will say this:

2112 and Zoso are both very good records, but I find myself skipping tracks more on the LZ4 record than on 2112. Same thing with the "Presence" record. Great couple of songs, but the rest sound like filler to my ears.

Based on that, I have to admit that Rush seems to have more quality, whileLed seems to be mopre about quantity.

But since neither band is near the top of my list, what do I know? Embarrassed

Difficult choice, but Rush will do it for me. Those drums and arpeggios "drewls"
Help me in my search for knowledge,
I must learn the Secret Art.
Who dares to help me raise the one
Whose very name near stills my heart?

Both have made big impact on me, but I've been more interested to learn Alex's Lifeson guitar parts than Jimmy Page's so... Rush

I don't particularly enjoy the albums of either of these bands, partially because I only have 1 Zeppelin album on vinyl and have only heard 3 Rush albums in their entirety. But I do enjoy a few tracks from each.

Rush has 2112, Xanadu, Subdivisions, Circumstances, La Villa Strangiato, and By-Tor and the Snow Dog.Big smile

Zeppelin has No Quarter, Stairway to Heaven, Over the Hills and Far Away, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, Fool in the Rain, and The Battle of Evermore.Smile

Hmm, I guess I'ma vote Rush, but they're pretty close in terms of importance to me.

Because John Paul Jones is an awesome musician (not just a bassist) and because Bonham is sometimes underrated for his abilities on the drumset (gotta love that bass-drum on "Good Times, Bad Times," etc.), Zeppelin gets my vote....

Apples and oranges. Though Rush were clearly influenced by LZ in their early days, they evolved into a completely different band. I love them both, though lately I listen to Rush more than LZ, but I don't really see any point in comparing them.

Listening to Jack Bruce's recent comments on how they were rubbish I wonder if Cream would have fared better against Zeppelin?

I felt sorry for Rush, so I gave them 10 or so extra votes.
