I really do need to do that.

I think I will once I get all of my music sorted and get a chance to become more familiar with some stuff I have that I'm not as familiar as I'd like to be with yet. I suppose that's why I haven't kept too good of track of everything I need, because I still have so much to hear and I only have 4 or so years of music listening behind me.

Cya Pat.

And on that note, I gotta go play guitar before I go to the party, so I'm out too.
Cya people.

Oblivion Sun (United States)
Beardfish (Sweden)
Quantum Fantasy (Belgium)
Cabezas de Cera (Mexico)

That seems intriguing.

No way I can go this year though, unfortunately. Ouch

Someday...

But we can all crash at Pat's.  Bethlehem, PA can't be too far from Philly.

Anyhow, you should check out this link.  http://www.nearfest.com/event/lineup.asp  There is 1 free song download for each band beginning with Beardfish and working your way down.

Plus they have tons of great prog, as well as great classical and jazz selections.

That's convincing. When I'm hunting for some new stuff, I'll have to remember that.

Oh and how does the new album compare to their first two?  More or less avant-prog?

I still need to get the new releases, and fortunately emusic just refreshed so I'll be doing that shortly.

Erm, I thought it was the new Afenginn release you'd heard?

And Pat... OH MY GOODNESS!

I just played Black Oni whilst erm... well, not drunk and it's just turned into the best album of all time!

Bloomin' hell!

Is the lack of caffeine apparent?  Confused  I meant the other, previous releases to this years.

Black Oni is just insanely ferocious awesomeness.

Sorry, needed the bathroom... where was I?

Oh yes.

Black Oni Part 3 is just brutal.
Part 4 is sonically the most darkest thing I've ever heard, yet I giggled through it 'cause that's what I do when music blows me away.
Part 5 is also excellent and the final notes really hurt the ears!

Have you ever played it on a proper stereo and turned up to 11?  Seriously do it.  The high-notes are maybe too high for your ears to register... I'm not sure.  Then there's the bit that makes the floor vibrate!

Well, I was going to listen to some other things but I think after this Egg album finishes it's time for Black Oni!

No no, plenty of caffeine.

I meant I was under the influence of a substance that was supplied by a friend the other for giving him a lift.  First one I've had in ages.

So I thought I'd make the most of it.

And Part 3 is heavier than any metal band yet isn't metal.

That just goes to show that metal isn't the heaviest thing you can get. Tongue

Sorry, the caffeine thing was about me and my incorrect Afenginn comment.

And the bold statement is so true.
