Topic: Zappa: Part 3a "the 80s""the run off" Posted: December 28 2008 at 00:33 |
Zappa: Part 3 "the 80s" ended if a three way tie at the top so a special election must be held to decide which of the above three leading vote getters moves on. This special election will last 2 days, ending tuesday at 1 am at which time I'll move on with Zappa: Part 4 "the 90s (including posthumous)".

Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Wow... really tuff one. I'm a true Zappa head and I love these 3 sides. They contain three of my all time favorite Zappa instrumentals. YAWYI has Theme From the Third Movement of Sinister Footwear. Ship Ariving Too Late has Envelopes. Jazz From Hell has G-Spot Tornado. I suppose for over all listenabillity I'll give it to You Are What You Is. Just an overall great disc.

Ship Arriving. The title track alone is worth far more than the entirety of You Are What You Is. Jazz from Hell is really neat, but it's a very dense and kind of one-directional album. More like a project than a true album from Frank, but hey, that doesn't really hurt it too much.
