@Epignosis. My attention span is very long. I agree with you on Wish You Were Here entirely except in that the first and last parts are incredible, evocative pieces of music, for which the length is a definite plus, and the centre songs are all memorable and impressive.

I have a long attention span as well- I just don't want to be hung up hearing eight minutes of guitar soloing and synthesizer background, you know what I mean (there do happen to be a few rare exceptions).

Again I like it, but compared to what else is out there, I just don't understand all the attention WYWH gets.

But of course, I'm just a small fish in a big ocean.

I have to agree with this, except replace WYWH with Pink Floyd in general (except Animals).

I do like them though, don't get me wrong.

Funny you should mention that, June...

Amaretto was my "gateway" beverage, if you will.

In fact, I still have the very first bought I owned, with just a little bit left in it.

A friend of mine came over to my home just a week before I was to get married, as we played a football video game.  Every time a person scored a touchdown, the other had to drink.  We wound up going into triple overtime.  LOL

But I still have what little bit is left, and one day, when I see him again (he went to Afghanistan), we'll have the rest.

And I thought Amaretto was girly... guess I was wrong. Wink

It's so yummy. I basically put it in most of my dessert recipes.

Amaretto is pretty good. It is considered girly in Québec though. It's hard to sound manly when ordering an amaretto sour in a bar. It's pretty good though.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Some mentality, eh?

So I guess guys have to either order beer (ideally, a pitcher full) or whisky (but that's not popular either).

Want. Details.

Well. Not really a true jazz vocal, more jazz/pop in a Joni-Mitchellish way. One of the songs on Fool's Mate, I only just heard it for the first time. Sunshine, I think.

And I am enormously impressed by Fool's Mate on that listen. It is pop, but pretty much every song is top notch, and Hammill's definitely on a vocal high.

The people had me drinking some red liquid called Aftershock yesterday. Not recommended. Seriously, tasted like cleaning fluid.

Any thought on Lucifer Was guys?

I'm just listening to Sleeping House and it sounds great. Kinda Deep Purple but with flute, something like that.... I think it might be the first track I hear by them.

If I'm drinking liquor, and rarely I do, I like a gin and tonic or a vodka martini, extra dirty.

I keep seeing the commercial for the new movie called Frost/Nixon, and it keeps reminding me of the band Frost*, which gives me the idea that the band should do a concept album about Tricky Dicky.

Yeah exactly. I like beer so I'm fine with it but still.

Yeah, I did find some vodka in the cupboard (as well as Midori, and the two combined always make excellent shooters), but I gotta drive my mom to the SPCA tomorrow, and I don't think I can handle my mom when I'm hungover (which I will most likely be if I go the vodka way).

Beer it is. All we got left is some Labatt Bleue, which tastes like garbage, so I won't get drunk. Maybe a glass of wine later.
