Lawdy lawdy them Seahawks won a game.  Hope this doesn't continue or it will blow a chance for a high draft pick.

I'm so happy that the Cowboys' defense has finally come together at this point in the season.  The offense is still a circus but it's the D that can keep us in games.  Things are certainly getting interesting now.

I may have to start a 'What A Relief, Part 2' thread...CHIEFS PRESIDENT/GM CARL PETERSON RESIGNED TODAY.

There's dancing in the streets of Kansas City despite the frigid temperatures.

The Raiders set an NFL record yesterday with 6 consecutive seasons of 11 losses or more.

Kansas City looks like the freaking '85 Bears compared with the latest Raider dynasty.

Much like Peterson needed to step down, I'm afraid it's Al Davis' time. Believe me, the guy is so out of touch. Then again, if him staying on means more losing seasons, then by all means STAY!!!! Big smile

Every two years, he fires his head coach and he wonders why none of them win.  It's a bad roster and he never gives his coach a chance to get a feel for it.  I laugh every time I see highlights of JaMarcus Russell because its absolutely hilarious that the second-highest paid QB in the league has footwork so bad he falls down after he throws the ball....without getting hit.

Not denying the toughness of rugby players, but I'd love to see you say that to a linebacker or offensive lineman. You'll be a troll crapping out his own broken teeth for two weeks.

Lay off my Raiders! Angry

Al does need to bring in someone for player evaluation.  He said he would at Kiffen's press conference so we will see. Jamarcus needs a couple of NFL type receivers to throw too.  I think he falls down because he is anticipating them to be in a place and they haven't got there yet so he hesitates and when he throws he is already off balance.  The dude has serious skills and he is only 23. The Raider need an O-line as well.

Lets see:

Bill Callahan (Ask Nebraska about him)
Norv Turner
Art Shell
Lane Kiffin

Which one of these guys should not have been fired?  Of course they shouldn't have been hired in the first place.

As for Rugby I have had this argument here before.  You don't run full speed when you hit in Rugby.  Try starting off at the end of your driveway and run full force into the garage door 28-35 times and see if you won't put on pads for the next time.

^^Didn't say anything inflammatory. It's OK to admit that your teams needs help. Hell, it's OK to admit that your team sucks canal water. Miami has proven that it is possible to go from last to first in a season, though.

Not problems on this end.

We're actually optimistic here in KC with the firing (he said he resigned, but reports say that he was fired) of Carl Peterson. Marty Schottenheimer was flown in last night, but they believe it was to consult with Clark Hunt. Clark and Marty spent a lot of time together while he coached the Chiefs and are very good friends.

Norv Turner and Mike Shanahan particularly jump off the page as quality head coaches (tough to argue with Shanahan's rings) who were fired prematurely by Davis.

Shannon was fired because the players complained to Davis about him.  He was trying to install the west Coast offense on a team that was just a couple years away from the Superbowl and they hated it.   Oakland always had relaxed practice players sitting on thier helmets and such and Shannahan was trying to instill discipline which they had got on fine without. He won two superbowls with John Elway and has been very mixed without him.

Norv Turner is overrated all the way.  He tanked in Washington he tanked in Oakland and he is tanking in San Diego. How does this make him a quality head coach? Confused

This is a tough season for Turner; he lost his best player on defense, and his best player on offense hasn't been himself this year.

Norv Turner is a great coordinator I wouldnt call him even a good head coach

and just to rant for a sec:
For all those dunces on TV kissing Peyton Manning's butt yet again and calling for another MVP, I have two words: Cleveland game
the "MVP" almost single handedly lost this game, to one of the worst teams in the league, only to be saved by his defense

It's absurd to call him the MVP when he's only played half a season like a competent NFL quarterback.  Besides, he's probably no better than the third-best QB in the NFL right now.

If I had to pick an MVP it would probably be Drew Brees.
