I was thinking recently (always a dangerous thing!) about albums by different artists that are related by some sort of synchronicity, several examples spring immediately to mind....
 
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
Piper at the Gates of Dawn - Pink Floyd
 
Both the above were recorded at the same time in Abbey Road studios in early 1967 and undoubtedly affected each other, Floyd members popping into some Beatles sessions and McCartney checking out the Floyd between takes.
 
 
Stackridge - Stackridge
Fireball - Deep Purple
 
Both these albums were recorded at De Lane Lea studios in April/May 1971 with a very busy Martin Birch engineering both sessions (when did he sleep??), two very different but equally classic seventies albums, connected in time and place of birth.
 
 
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis
Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) - Eno
 
While Genesis were struggling to complete the mammoth 'Lamb' in Island studios in Basing Street, London, Eno was next door with Phil Manzanera working on his second solo outing. Peter Gabriel coerced him into contributing his inimitable skills at sound manipualation to the nescent mixes of the 'Lamb', to incredible effect (the 'Enossification' process!) while Phil lent his considerable percussive skills to Eno's project in return.
 
Anyone know of any more 'sister' albums that were connected in time and space this way?

Very 'Eavy, Ver 'Umble - Uriah Heep
 
Both bands were rehearsing in adjacent rooms of the Hamwell Community Centre, Shepherds Bush during the winter of 1969.

Aqualung and Zep's 4 were recorded in the same place if I'm not wrong. Though not sure where was it.

Yes, they were - in the new studio opened by Island Records in London. Ian Anderson mentions that in the interview included on the CD remaster of the album, stating that the whole experience was quite difficult.

And let´s not forget the part of the interview were Anderson claims Plant hated him back then because he told Jimmy Page "With your guitar and my lyrics we could have ourself a nice little rock band"LOL

I have read an article about Robert Fripp, where he claims that his Exposure album, Daryl Hall's Sacred Songs and Peter Gabriel II (all produced by R.F.) form a trilogy.

^ Yeah.  I believe that's in the liner notes of Exposure.  I love that album, and also Hall's Sacred Songs.  Never been a big PG II fan though.  Not bad, just not as good as the three albums surrounding it.

^ wasn't the trilogy intended to be Gabriel, Hall and Harry and the Fripp solo only came about after failure of the project due to resistance from Daryl Hall and Debbie Harry's respective management/record companies?

not prog related but the two best movies of 2007 were filmed on location in Marfa, Texas at the same time
