"The Ballad Of Peter Pumpkinhead". GREAT song!!!!!

E

Wrapped In Grey is my personal favorite.
"Some folks see the world as a stone
Concrete daubed in dull monotone
Your heart is the big box of paints
And others, the canvas we're dealt
Your heart is the big box of paints
How coloured the flowers all smelled
As they huddled there, in petalled prayer
They told me this, as I knelt there
Awaken you dreamers
Adrift in your beds
Balloons and streamers
Decorate the inside of your heads
Please let some out
Do it today
But don't let the loveless ones sell you
A world wrapped in grey
Some folks pull this life like a weight
Drab and dragging dreams made of slate
Your heart is the big box of paints
And others, the canvas we're dealt
Your heart is the big box of paints
Just think how the old masters felt, they call...
Awaken you dreamers
Asleep at your desks
Parrots and lemurs
Populate your unconscious grotesques
Please let some out
Do it today
Don't let the loveless ones sell you
A world wrapped in grey
And in the very least you can
Stand up naked and
Grin"
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I've heard that Andy Partridge is wicked smart (genius level IQ).

I just finished listening to (gulp) LOVE BEACH.

Now I'm listening to OCTAVARIUM.

I think I like LOVE BEACH moreso than OCTAVARIUM.

I'll make it three of us.- not heard it for years.Thumbs Up..

For anyone liking this, can thoroughly recommend Be Good to Yourself at Least Once a Day, Deke Leonard's Iceberg and Black Hole Star by the Neutrons
Man were great live, too. Saw them at Roundhouse many times.

Irrelevant fact: I used to work with bassist Ken Whaley's dad - also - Ken - on a newspaper in Harlow. Let's just say he was a better photographer than most. Ken jnr was a real nice guy, too. I think he started out in a band called Help Yourself.

Infamous Man quote in NME in the 70s: We may not be the best band in the world but we sure smoke the most dope.

As anyone in the front six rows will happily verifyWink

It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.

^ Feeling controversial today, Robert!! Wink

I'm still on Unfold The Future by The Flower Kings.  It's a 2 cd album, my commute is 20-25 mins each way, and it's been in my player since Monday.  That's how long the album is. It's really good though!

Yes...I expect tons of lovely messages when I post my review of it.

I read your review of Unfold the Future, and it's made me eager to acquire that album.  Thanks!

I look forward to reading your review, when can we expect that?  I have to say I really love WYWH myself but I do prefer Animals.

My review (a rarity, I really must do more) was Stardust We Are, not Unfold The Future, which is a much tougher listen, and harder to get into, though worth the effort.  Stardust is wonderful.
