Hmmm....that poses an interesting question....

How can I write reviews that would physically cause Alex pain?

Voodoo Reviews?

Then you're not going to like one thing I have to say about In Absentia.

Pop and minimalism are two completely different categories.  You can be minimalistic and pop.  The last song on the album is precisely that.

Like a lot of Coldplay songs.

You're entitled to your opinion.

I won't be the first person to say that In Absentia is the most prog thing you will ever hear. It isn't. There's no objective way to continue this discussion, so I won't.

Continue it!  Or so help me, I'll...I'll...give Henry Cow 1 star reviews!!!!!

Tongue

I know you wouldn't, because you're not the type of person to review something without knowing it well enough. Wink

That Japanese business you had me hearing the other night...wooo....I'd be sorely tempted to go right on ahead.

Besides, I need more 1 star reviews.  Smile

Koenjihyakkei, right?

I heard the sample here and was really impressed. Got the latest album (because I couldn't find Nivraym)... not so amazing.

Yep.  Really strange business.  One part of something I heard was interesting.

It grows on you. I found their latest album to be my least favorite for a LONG time, but now I love it.

Nivraym was the one I liked the most for a while.

Well, I need to eat and possibly begin studying for tomorrow. I'll be back, I'm sure of it.

Take care, everyone.

I've been out of work since July.  I miss teaching and the relationships I built with the young men who sat in my classroom.

I've applied to over 75 positions, and I've had two interviews.  Employers are free to be as picky as they like.

I can't get entry-level work (restaurants, bowling alleys, etc) because I have a degree, and I can't get a teaching job because there are 400 other teachers in this county alone also out of work.

But, as Alex knows, I'm going forward with my music.  I expect to have a website up and running before the end of the year, selling downloads to my songs.  I have to do something.

I like folk music (like John Prine, for instance), but I could never see myself starting a website like that.

The website for my own music will be handled by a good friend of mine, so I don't have to worry about that end of the business.
