Would you say "Collapse the Light Into Earth" sounds like Coldplay?

Too bad.  Because I'm getting ready to say just that in my review.

Oh, okay. Good luck!

I would explode with nervousness if I waited that long though.

Dude, it's the same piano chords repeated over six minutes, strings, and falsetto vocal work.  I don't see how I'm wrong.

"Clocks" is a more complex song, for God's sake.

There's a difference between pop and minimalism. If you want proof of that, try some Krautrock.

Then you're not going to like one thing I have to say about In Absentia.

Pop and minimalism are two completely different categories.  You can be minimalistic and pop.  The last song on the album is precisely that.

Like a lot of Coldplay songs.

No. In fact, I didn't really write reviews for the longest time.

I do now, but I go in spurts. I'm done writing reviews for now though... I'm actually not wanting to listen to any music right now either. What's wrong with me? Confused

You're entitled to your opinion.

I won't be the first person to say that In Absentia is the most prog thing you will ever hear. It isn't. There's no objective way to continue this discussion, so I won't.

I know you wouldn't, because you're not the type of person to review something without knowing it well enough. Wink

Exam season?

I don't think I'm ready to write reviews yet. I've been considering a career change, and going into journalism especially for music, but I hate the idea of destroying people's work with bad reviews... Confused

Exams don't make any difference whether I feel listening to music or not. I'm really content right now too; my mind keeps drifting to thoughts of someone though... Still, it usually doesn't affect me to the point of not wanting/needing to hear anything.

Yeah, that's understandable. When I do write them, I just write them for the sake of self-satisfaction.

Hmmm....that poses an interesting question....

How can I write reviews that would physically cause Alex pain?

Voodoo Reviews?
