Bungie doesn't exactly look like a forum board I'd see myself lurking, let alone being a registered member for lol.
Active or not, 25 mods is a lot of mods for a forum.
Even some of the bigger forum boards I go to, only have usually about 5 mods, 10 at most.
Heh, we have 6 mods at PA, but Jody has been pretty inactive.
And 2 webmasters, one of which I've never even seen post on the forum boards ever.
Yeah, Bungie.net is a lot bigger than probably any other forum I've been to, and, more importantly, it's more full of idiots with free time, so it requires a lot more maintance, and the fact that nobody really wants to do that maintance adds to the numbers. They add 6-8 more mods every 6 months to a year. LOL

As for joining, well, you see, you are not a 14 year old with aching amounts of free time trying to stand out among the rabble of retarded 13 year olds so as to gain some place on the social heirarchy!

The mods here are much more active though. It's fairly rare to see them post outside the website subforum on B.net, and even then it's only a few of them that bother. The rest either don't post or respond to more of the endless Community Forum whinings about various things. The Webmaster there is much more involved, though; then again, he is getting paid, unlike Max.

And I was by far one of the most active moderators, possibly the most at many times, logging such huge amounts of time that even the 45 pages of new threads per day Halo 3 Forum slowed to a crawl for me. And since I was bored, but also unable to leave, I made my reputation posting in the Off-Topic forum that so few moderators even bothered to scan. And since their usual topics got boring very quickly, I became the moderator who would post in every thread about music, almost always to criticize your taste in. Cool

oh my that was revealing.

Oh, and you probably didn't play Halo. That would be another incentive. I ended up liking Myth more, though.

45 new threads a day.....all I can say ........f**k that's a lot.

And yeah, I don't game at all anymore to be honest, don't even own a game console and all I have is a gameboy emulator on my PC.
The time which would be spent gaming goes towards guitar/theory study nowadays.
Well I still play the occasional game, but it's not a part of my daily routine anymore, at all.

Yeah, and that's just 1,125 threads per day over the lifespan of the forum. That doesn't count the fun days, like when Xbox Live went down unexpectedly...Fortunately, I missed Halo 3's release day since I'd already quit. ;-) They are so f**king stupid. But they thought I was brilliantly hilarious! What was I supposed to do?

The really sad thing is that I was there (even after I quit) and here and other places when I was at college, instead of being with friends. Or doing work. And now I'm here again. :(

Ehh, dude, I'm not exactly my freaking social.
I have over 50 posts per day.
What does that say about me, sheesh.

Hahaha, that is true. But did you fail out of college!?

Failed last year of high school (whatever the equivalent of whatever school year it is in the US where you should be 18 years old by the end of that school year) twice.
This year, due to severe anxiety and paranoia.
As a result, I stayed home, and posted about 200 posts a day on PA than going outside because going outside would damn near give me an anxiety attack.
Fortunately, I kept up the guitar playing, and I have the potential to earn 40 dollars per hour teaching it, which is more than double the average hourly wage in Australia.
So yes, there is a bonus to staying home on weekends, practicing your ass off at something than constantly doing things that give instant gratification that will not help you out if you happen to screw up at school.
People in a similar situation to me, are doing freaking hard labor jobs, mind numbing retail jobs or whatever.........eff that, when I can get paid 40 dollars an hour to wear casual clothes and sit there and talk for an hour lol.
Once a few students come in, my days of 50 posts per day will over.
It will be down to 35 per day after that:P

Ah, but I have no useful skills beyond being good at standarized tests! ;-)

But let's stop this fighting and agree: we are better than whoever made this (not an explicitly horrifying picture but still NSFW)

Mike! Come back with your happy music so we stop having a pity party over here!

It's probably not work safe in certain work places though, not not work safe everywhere.
But seriously who the hell would make that?
And I think has gone to well.... do lively things.

Why the hell is it asking for Flashplayer, even after enabling all the scripts?
ARGHHH!

I give up and my back is gonna fry if I keep sitting here longer.
I'll leave you to your own devices Henry, just don't do anything stupid.

I know I didn't fail. I triple checked everything and I probably aced it. Statistics is easy for me. Wink

How are you both this morning?

I'm being irresponsible. Posting while my students watch a film. I should be marking papers but some of them made such a mess that I gave up for now.

Just trying to be as encouraging as you'd expect from me.

Smelly's parents paid in full except one fee I'm anticipating.  I told him I'd let him know.  But he was a class act about it.

I'm guessing that's a nickname? (a terrible one, might I add)

Haha, that's understandable. Grading papers can always wait anyway; half of the students probably don't want them back. LOL

Well, that's good that they've paid SOME now. How was he a class act? Confused
