Many of the techniques have come in quite handy over the years. I liked being able to block and move in to strike nerve centers. Even a big guy isn't so tough when he suddenly has a numb right arm. Wink

true enough, though Kenpo's weakness (like many martial arts) is real-life fighting..  we sparred a lot but nothing of the intensity of Muay Thai or the Brazilian stuff, it's more of a quick self-defense system and therefore has limitations

My own chosen martial art is Origami; I had a club going, but it folded.

You should bow before my sig. Allan's been getting around quite a bit of late, spreading his solos across the map.

Don't lock up the beer, that's what I came for.

I think there's some Budweiser in the bin - that's what you American types drink, isn't it?

BTW - if anyone at all in the London area fancies trying to get tickets for the RSC's production of Hamlet (there may be returns available now Tennant is unable to perform until the new years), do everything you can to do so.

This production is exemplary & Edward Bennet has stepped up to the mark from the role of Laertes to that of Hamlet seemingly without (too much) effort - sarcastic, angry, funny, tragic. Patrick Stewart almost steals the show as the ghost + Claudius (even if he didn't say 'make it so' ) & the supporting cast, stage set & lighting make this one to see & remember for a long time.

As I said earlier - if you can, GO.

Yep, every single one of us.  Of course, I can safely assume you're wearing a bowler hat and you're missing 3/4 of your teeth, right?  Wink

I preferred macrami but was always too tied up to practice.
