Neo-progressive. Not bad. Pretty aggressive stuff that's a lot like Arena.

But he's fantastic on pretty much every album i've heard from 1975-1984. Be it Rainbow, Black Sabbath or Dio.

I don't own any Dio solo stuff, and not planning toApproveWink

While I've just finished entirely this:

I was kind of surprised after listening to that album that they were listed under Neo.  I thought for sure that they would be in Prog Metal, but after a couple of listens, I can see the Neo side of things as well, although I think that they reside firmly on the border of Neo and Prog Metal.

Yeah, it's pretty heavy...a lot like Arena.

OK, we all need a laugh today, so I'm going to share something. I work for an ad agency that specializes in agriculture. Well, I'm working on an image from a photo shoot that we did in Montana of a farmer and his father on their land. During the shoot the family dog was sort of milling about and is in some of the shots. On this particular one I have to get in really tight because I'm COB'ing (cutting out background) and noticed that the guy's dog is taking a leak in the background. I squint my eyes down to about 20/30 and could see this furry leg sticking out at a 50° angle. Got a nice chuckle on an otherwise somber day. LOL

I was a bit underwhelmed with Year Zero, but took a chance with this one. Really enjoy it, although I don't spin it too often.

Hmm.  This is pretty interesting, thanks for the link.

Completely unrelated sonically, but do you know of another French multi-instrumentalist, Francois Thollot?  He plays zeuhl flavored music and is very good.

Antoine once asked for a Marillion suggestion and (of course) I went with Brave. Subsequently, he would dedicate it to me whenever he played it...to which I was honored. Today, I return the honor.

"Lover's Requiem" by I Am Ghost. Hardcore/screamo music of the slightly more intelligent variety.

As much as a King's X and Tiles freak as my wife is, it would be tough.  Wink
