There some nice gift stalls but they were phenomenally expensive. Then my youngest decided he wanted to go to Hamleys on the way back. I also don't advise this on a Saturday before Christmas unless you really like crowds.

It could be worse, you could have gone to the one in Dorset...

Should be good - I never thought they'd last this long.

Well, I had an interesting weekend in Newcastle, and discovered a pretty good drinking hole..

Trillians rock bar

Well, the beer was average but the jukebox actually had a full blown prog rock section. Imagine, going into a pub, putting a quid in the jukebox and playing 'A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers' Well, I didn't have to imagine, thats exactly what I did!

Much to the disgust of my friend of course, who vowed to never take me there again.

Wow, I bet that went down well with the average Geordie. If only they had a branch in London...

^^ I can't imagine that would represent a reasonable financial return for the electricity used... I mean, back to back with Supper's Ready, and you've got an hours entertainment lined up for ther price of a bag of pork scratchings...LOL
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Prog is fantastic value in juke box terms. Seven prog tracks for £1, can be considerably more than an hours entertainment...

Alan, the handful of Geordies in the bar, seemed fairly oblivious to my choices, to be honest. There was a very large woman sitting to our right, in a bikers jacket, who uttered something in Geordie when 'South Side of the Sky' came on. I didn't have my phrase book on me, but I think it roughly translated as: "F***in' hell, I've not heard this in f***in' years, man"

Next prog curry night in Toon..??

Way Eye man (+++etc+++)

Seven prog tracks for a quid?

Plague of lighthouse keepers
Suppers ready
Harvest of souls
Mumps
Valentyne Suite
Gates of delerium
Revealing science of god

Dammit, that's seven already - no room for Pallas's Atlantis Suite, then?
