About Grobschnitt...

Quote: "They were best known as a clone of YES (symphonic progressive group), but they also explored other progressive rock styles (either psychedelic prog or more cohesive "Krautrock" with some stunning instrumental passages that will be familiar to anyone into the likes of MAN, AMON DUUL II, WISHBONE ASH and many similar bands)."

Rockpommel's Land is a symphonic progressive record with a german taste, but the rest of the Grobschnitt's discography cannot be categorized as symphonic at all... It's a Space Kraut Rock. I think one of the reasons Grobschnitt is categorized as symphonic progressive is because of their FANTASTIC suites
almost always included in their albums.

What a FANTASTIC list of suites you find when listen to Grobschnitt's records.
The below is a MUST HAVE list of Grobschnitt's suites from their first four albums:
Symphony (13:47)
Sun trip (17:45)
Die Sinfonie (live) (29:40)
Magic Train (13:20)
Solar Music I (17:28)
Solar Music II (15:58)
The Excursion Of Father Smith (9:37)
Sunny Sunday's Sunset (11:30)
Ernie's Reise (10:53)
Severity Town (10:05)
RockPommel's Land (20:55)

Smile

... and more... Solar Music Live is flawless!! It's a 66 minutes live version of Ballermann's suite...
... but this is just my opnion...

LOL
