They're a jazz band featuring heavy use of the Hammond B3. Not prog or anything in my opinion but really fun.

Great. I'm glad that you enjoyed them, and something good came out of that post. |

What is Miscellaneous Debris by Primus, a compilation? |

It is a 5 song covers EP. They play Intruder from Peter Gabriel, and IMO a really cool version of Have A Cigar from Pink Floyd. Although, I read a review of it here on PA, and the reviewer hated their version of Have a Cigar, so go figure.

Proggers are often touchy with covers of classic songs. |

If you like Primus, (or you think Primus Sucks! ) then there is a good chance that you'd enjoy this. Per usual with Primus, the bass work and the drumming is quite spectacular. I've never been a huge fan of his vocals but when I am in the right mood they work for me.

I definitely like Primus; I'm surprised I never heard of that. I'm usually not one for covers, but the idea of Primus covering something sounds much more attractive. |

All Primus' covers I've heard were really cool.

That is another one of those difference between me and a normal prog fan. I tend to enjoy cover songs and cover albums. For some reason, I seem to like to hear how my favorite artists interpret other's songs, or how their songs are interpreted by others. Of course, as with anything there are good ways and bad ways of doing this.

That is true, but I feel generally really strongly about covers and the concept of an individual work of art being representative of that musician(s)' thoughts and emotions, so it's hard for me to accept most covers. |

I am writing an album review, so I left the forums to go to the band page. I suppose that that would show me as not on PA even though I still was; kind of.

I have Law and Order playing on the TV. They have a blonde on that looks like Starbuck from the new Battlestar Galactica series. I'm pretty certain that it is her.
