Big smileClap

Best album ever made after Rock Bottom.

For some, yes...
You'll be glad to know that I've got Alphataurus now though.

My only complaint is it's too short.

What are your thoughts on it?

More Ayn Rand-y? Is that even possible? I thought I was already at the peak of Ayn Rand-ianishness. LOL

I'm not sure how you can say Godbluff is their best when Still Life sounds very similar... and well, is better by just a smidgen.

Actually, Still Life is technically my second favorite. Those are the two I actually enjoy; the rest haven't hit me in the same way.

I love later-era VdGG.

I prefer early-era VdGG though in terms of live performance.  Ooooh, hearing Squid 1/Squid 2/Octopus is just epic.  Hearing classic VdGG play epic tracks from The Aerosol Grey Machine is epic.  Hearing an extended, raucous version of Darkness 11/11 is epic.

Oooh.

You should do that for like a day or two and then change it back. Blame it on the fact that you have multiple personalities. LOLLOL

Maybe just more randy then. Big smile

H to He is also epic.  Darkness 11/11 is one of my favourite tracks ever.
The least we can do is smack Alex round the face for his hate of Pawn Hearts is also epic.  Refugees... mmmm!

Lost = best break-up song ever (for me anyhow)
Still Life = how I feel most of the time... existentialism ftw!

Existentialism doesn't fit the Randian philosophy, hence why Alex hateth the VdGG and loveth the Rush.

Reprinted?

Hmmm well yes you should.

If it was an original though... ooooh yes, definitely.  It's worth much more money than any Henry Cow album and well... it's a classic unloved album and needs to be heard. Big smile

I like music possessing lyrics that don't necessarily fit my beliefs. Hell, most of prog is on the left on the political spectrum, whereas my views don't correspond at all. LOL

Although, I must admit... the lyrics in VDGG don't help my opinion. Though it's primarily the music. I don't care nearly as much about the lyrics if the music is amazing enough to warrant sub-par lyrics. If not, then the lyrics do stand out more.

I meant Lost.

And I was just testing you, after you made your bad Pawn Hearts error. Wink

Killer is on H to He though... not so keen on it as I used to be but it's still better than anything by Frost*.

Who cares about the money?

I'd rather buy something that I'll actually get good use out of for my own personal intake. Smile

Luckily VdGG are amazing and unique on both fronts.

Nobody else has lyrics like them.
Nobody else sounds musically like them.

And both are epic.

I don't need terrible Neil Peart lyrics.

I personally love Peart's lyrics and think Hammill's aren't good at all, but that comes down to us being different people. Wink

That's what I just said.

I said it's worth a more but musically it's fantastic.  It may sound odd but I've heard The Aerosol Grey Machine more than any other VdGG album.  It's hard to explain why that is.

I have all of VDGG's albums and that one is definitely an oddity in their collection. I don't like it, but not for the same reasons as if I didn't like their other ones.

It is an interesting start for them, really.
