And even if a band does have a homepage, it's no guarantee info will be easy to find.


That's true. It just seems odd to me. Why wouldn't a band want information about them to be easily accessible?

It's not because a band deliberately "wouldn't want information about them to be easily accessible", i would imagine every band would want to be known and have easily accessible information,  it's because the band is not particularly established and for other various factors such as being unsigned etc, means they may not have the facilities/the motivation to provide a lot of information.
Many bands which as of yet don't have any discography prove challenging to research or bands with only one album for eg.

Yes, but being unsigned almost gives motivation for someone to create a website and give out that information. How long does that take?

In fact, because my band is unsigned, I went out of my way to make sure that our website was at least established to the point that it is.

Yes, but not every band is your band Alex.
If a band has no discography, we skip them anyway and move onto the next band that does in fact have a discography.
