I seem to be having a "The Boss" listening day.  I decided to listen to The River, and figured that I might as well continue with The Rising.  Probably less than 5% progressive, but still some excellent rock and roll.  He has such a great voice.  It is one of those voices that seems to come from somewhere deep within him.

Springsteen? I love The Rising and Radio Nowhere from Magic impressed the hell out of me. Not too familiar with the rest of his works.

Yep.  Springsteen is supposed to be pretty awesome to see live too, but I've yet to have that pleasure.  His album Born to Run is a definite must have.

Oh and I'm scared of reaching 50k... just so you guys know!

And I need to write more... I have two short stories under my belt and well... one of them is so-so and the other is not-to-bad but still so-so.

Plus I started a third and well... what I've written is good, except I've had a brain wipe.  Plus the irony of the story just makes it that much harder to write!

I mean, the story is sort of about how to stop suffering from writers block and erm... well I've stopped 'cause of just that reason!

So once I've figured out how to stop suffering from it, then the story shall remain as it is. LOLEmbarrassed

I wouldn't suggest that... I'd end up writing a Nabokov or D.H. Lawrence style novel. Embarrassed

Sorry, just popped in to borrow a cup of sugar & couldn't help over-hearing; never been a huge fan of Springsteen, but then heard 'The Seger Sessions' CD - absolute blinder of an album, real good time stuff & mostly improvised, too

I haven't heard that CD yet.  I know that it got some really rave reviews, but it never really piqued my interest.  I suppose that I should probably try and check it out.

The semi-cover band In The Present is playing here in Detroit tonight.  I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to attend or not.  Obviously, I'd be there in a heartbeat if Jon Anderson were present.  I'm also quite sure that I'll enjoy the music even with the stand-in singer.  After all, I saw Journey this summer and I was perfectly fine with their new singer.  I'm listening to The Word Is Live boxset to get myself psyched and in the mood for Yes.

Depends on the price maybe, but I myself wouldn't go.  No Jon = no Yes in my book, even though I thought Drama was a good album.

I guess it is as much about curiosity as anything else.  If a local bar were to have a band that just played Yes covers, I'd probably be a regular (moreso if this band just did Rush covers, but...)  It wouldn't bother me that the band members weren't the originals.  But I guess that gets back to cost.  It is one thing to pay a $5 or $10 cover charge, it is another to pay $30 or $40 to see the band, but at least they have 3 members, and a Wakeman playing, and by all appearance the stand in singer does a real good job of singing.  But I expect that it will be kind of weird with there being a different singer there.

I guess that is why I still haven't bought tickets and I am leaving it to a last minute decision on deciding whether I want to go or not. Big smile

Mind you, something else that factors in is I've seen Yes several times.  If I had never seen the band live, I would see a show from this tour.

I actually just listened to Roll the Bones two days ago and their debut a few days before that, so it moreso gradually climbs than something like HC which constantly is climbing (at the moment anyway). LOL
