Besides, I had WarChild on the stereo earlier today, so no need to overdose on JT.

I don't listen to much classic prog these days (even though I did play some Yes earlier).

I've been only listening to Rush in my car for the past couple of weeks.  It is quite a drawn out process, since my commute is only about 15 minutes, it takes me 2 days to listen to each album.  Otherwise, I have rarely listened to classic prog too lately.

That's understandable. My dad was big on music back then but he actually doesn't listen to it anymore really unless he's with me--he's more of a movie person now that he's gotten older.

It has taken me a few years to truly expand as far as I have---I listened to mainly all Symphonic Prog for the first year I started loving music or even longer (hence its representation in my last.fm charts because they're since December 2005), but I think my knowledge of music has really grown amazingly. It was even easier for David because I introduced him to prog a year ago, and he had access to stuff I hadn't even had right away.

My taste has been changing quite a bit lately but I'm still managing to balance my liking for just about everything still (thereby expanding instead of directly changing); the last music I've heard over the past day or two includes Meshuggah, Tull, Mars Volta, Henry Cow, and Rush.

You did give VDGG 1 star didn't you.  I wouldn't go that far, but so far they have been mostly a 2-star band for me.  I still expect that they will click for me someday, but as of yet it hasn't happened.
