Yeah, pretty much. And then it's not like we have alternatives since we've effectively eliminated the chances for a third party to get a foothold in our political system. Washington was right; political parties are pretty much just "factions" and don't do us any good. Sure, not everyone's going to agree on every issue, but we don't need to throw parties into the mix.

I tend to semi-disagree...it's not impossible to get a decent third party operation up and running due to the two-party system, the ballot restrictions are mostly to blame. It takes so much time and money to get on the ballots these days that you basically have no time left to campagin. Had Perot, Anderson or even Nader been reserved a spot on the ballot the outcomes might have been tipped more slightly in their favor. Now I'm not saying I think it is likely that Nader can win the White house, but hey, Perot beat Bush in Maine and Clinton in Alaska so it is entirely possible that we can see 3rd party politicians in major seats in this country. Wasn't Jesse Ventura Reform party anyways?

That's kind of what I was referring to. Technically it's not impossible, and if the next few years become bad enough I could see it happening, but like you said, the cost of political campaigns is so high these days that it's really, really hard to run a successful third-party campaign. However, two years from now, the situation could very well be different depending on how the Obama administration ends up working out.

We had a pair of Jehovah's Witnesses come by our house the other day. I basically told them that if they wanted to talk to me about it, they'd simply be wasting their time and we'd all get angry at each other, so they left.

I like to make it seem like I'm actually religious........and disappoint them at the end by telling them I'm an atheist.
Much more fun to see the sad look on their face doing that.

I admit I thought about doing that,LOL but considering I was home alone at the time and it would've been two of them against one of me, I thought better. No telling what they would've tried to say or do to me.

Dude what, you think they would assault you or something?
I'm normally home alone when 2 of them show up, ehhhh, they just move onto the next house.
I'm not sure the 60 something year old people that normally do the rounds for Jehovah's Witnesses around here are looking for a fight with a young dude like me.

Except in my case it was two guys in their late 20s/early 30s and both were bigger than me. Thus why I didn't think it was worth it. If it was someone who was older or shorter than I wouldn't mind luring them into a false sense of security. That and considering how seriously some people take their religious beliefs....

Ummmmmm...so yeah, I took at look at the DT forum.....after about 10 minutes of reading about a thread on their next album (which I won't be surprised if it's a big bust), I'm never going to that site again.Dead

I knew you wouldn't survive over thereLOL

Once you go there, you realize how stupid fanboyism is.

Pretty much. I think I've pretty much gotten rid of most of my fanboyish ways. If I can give two Opeth albums 1 and 2 star reviews, I think that certainly says something.LOL

I don't either really.

Well, okay, what I do know, is that it's a graph showing output vs the amount of rotation of a volume pot, and showing the differences between an Antilog, Linear, Logarithmic and Commercial Logarithmic volume pots.

I have no idea of physics anymore, but oddly enough I actually have some idea of what that graph is aboutWacko

I've given up on understanding anything other than basic physics after senior year of high school. My teacher was, well, too smart and didn't understand anything about learning curves or anything like that. He'd do a problem on the board and then expect everyone to know it, and when someone asked him a question, he usually had a hard time giving them a good answer because he basically did everything in his head. He had to give retests for almost every test we had that year, and then the retests would be harder than the original tests. Although our class gave him such a hard time over it that I think that's why he left after our senior year.LOL

I hated physics really.
I was the same, I gave up on anything past the basic stuff.
Before I picked physics as a class, i thought I would like it, but I ended up not enjoying it much at all.
