The whole album can be listened at http://www.myspace.com/gunsnroses

It's pretty good. While it doesn't have any spectacular moments like November Rain, Estranged, Coma, Welcome to the Jungle, the album tries to be a bit different and has lots of good moments. It's definitively not "more of the same" and the ballads work better than the rockers.

Still not worth the wait, it's just good, 3-star material.

One of my favorite artists (Ran Thaal/Bumblefoot) with one I despise (Arxel Rose).  Some of it is ok, but I hear to much of the latter.

I'll be the first to say it is terrible.  The critics seem to be loving it for some reason.  One critic even said he loved it because of all the stupid stuff Axl did.  Which is awful reasoning to give it an A- review.

While I really dislike/ahte Gn'R, I'm listening to it anyway. From what I hearing, it seem similar to tracks from Octavarium.

QFT.

That comparison is so ridiculous it's not funny.

I only heard one song off the new GnR album ... based on that, I'd much prefer the new Ron Thal/Bumblefoot album released earlier this year:

Terrible in general or by G'n'R standards though? I couldn't take listening to more than one song ('Street of Dreams'), but it didn't sound significantly worse than most of the stuff from Use Your Illusion.

I think it's safe to say I'd rather hear Ron Thal in his solo environment than in G 'n' R tooBig smile
Who cares if that's off topic?
Bumblefoot rules!

In fact, let's make this thread about Ron Thal insteadLOL

from first listen I'd say I don't need to add to Axl's bank account. G'n'R was never just Axl.
What?

I haven't listened, since it was not streaming (anymore). Looks like I didn't miss much from what I read here. Smile

But it does still stream Angelo...

So, is it really G'nR or is it really Axl and friends?  I loved UYI I and II, but of course, that was the whole gang, Izzy, Slash, Duff and some drummer.  Haven't bothered to look on myspace.  If it's just Axl, I'm sure it won't be the same.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Listen the first song of the album and compare it to These Walls or The Roots of All Evil. I'm not saying G&R are Prog, no, just that the riff and weird sounds are similar.

Ok I bought it. Now i'll listen to it and I'll comment (I don't like previews or listening music thorugh my computer...)

I loved UYI I and II, liked AFD, hated the cover spaguetti waste.... let's see. Slash was important, but let's see. I will not judge before listening.

And Cacho, I find it hard to believe but, again, I'll check it out. You were asking about DT recommendations just a few days ago, so maybe I'll need to hear the simmilarities myself... Tongue...And if they exist, well, that would only make me like the album better...

I cannot believe how much I like this album. Maybe it's just because I was never that big a fan of GNR, and that the album has been in the works almost as long as I've been alive, so I haven't really been waiting on it (if I was I would have been the most metal baby EVER), but apart from about 3 tracks, I really like the thing. I wrote a review for it here.

Well, I've heard it once. I can honestly say, China has found democracy.

The album is good. It has some weaker moments but in general is a very recommended buy for fans of rock, hard rock and light metal.

And, yes, song 3 ("better") does sound like DT somewhat...ConfusedConfused

Listened to it today for the first time. Only heard it once but it sounded really good, which was a pleasant surprise.

have not made my mind yet,
I will give it another spin, but I don't hope for much improvement
