I'm wondering whether I'll like Green Carnation... how Black Metal are they?
I'm also wondering whether to try Emperor before any other Black Metal band.

World Record hasn't really gotten better with age with me. It's good but it still feels lackluster

And Man-Erg. My favourite track of all time by any band ever. But The Sleepwalkers is mighty fine as well. World Record is excellent but it's underplayed. I love Meurglys III: The Songwriter's Guild and Wondering though.

They're not black as far as I know James. They play a doomy style of progmetal. Light of Day, Day of Darkness is excellent. The quiet Offspring is more accessible though.

I love White Hammer, even though it sounds a wee bit dated now. Still amazing.

EDIT:
To be fair, that was from a while ago and my name was still Chameleon and I'd take a new picture it'd say Leningrad but I'm on a laptop and just now it looked exactly like that picture except it said Leningrad instead of Chameleon help run-on sentence oh god help me
