I think Rush vs Led Zeppelin is a more interesting poll. So who would you vote for?

Still Rush for me. Now Led Zeppelin -vs- The Beatles is a tough call for me.

Led Zeppelin are S-U-P-E-R-B.
Rush never appealed to me.
Hallelujah.

Led Zeppelin in this poll , the Beatles in the other one /// ( i like Rush since the late 70's ) But imo , Zep & Beatles must win these polls easily ///

I'm sure the members of Rush would get a chuckle from the existence of this poll.

Since the inaugural Rush album is basically a Zeppelin retread................my vote is for Led Zeppelin.

Rush is way more interesting.
And they're still rocking. Together.

Rush is a great band.
Led Zeppelin are legends.
To clarify my point, I think Rush have some very good and interesting albums, yet the music of Led Zeppelin appeals to me more. They influenced rock music as one of the most important bands of the 70's with at least four albums to be considered classics of rock music. Rush on the other hand are also a big name, yet they are neither as innovative (though there is still a dispute whether Led Zeppelin ever have been) nor as much as a musical monument as Led Zeppelin. To me, this poll, same as the "Beatles against Rush" poll, features a band with legendary status and.. Rush. Without a doubt they are a great band, but to me will never reach the same status as Led Zeppelin. And, besides their debut album, Rush hardly is comparable to Led Zeppelin, to me the only thing in common being that they have guitar, bass, drums and vocals.
To make it short: I simply like Led Zeppelin more

I agree! Even if Rush is a great band, they're far behind Led Zeppelin.

While I am GLAD Rush are still rocking and still together, I wouldn't count this as a reason as to why Rush are better. Both had their share of tragedy given the deaths fo Bonham and the recent passing of John Rutsey.......Plant lost a son.....Peart lost his wife and daughter. Zep quit after Bonham died and they shouldn't be faulted for that.
As for Rush being more interesting, not sure about that one either.
I am a fan of both. This was the hardest poll yet.

I am a fan of both. This was the hardest poll yet. | I think there is always something to be said for longevity, perseverance, and consistency. But I do find Peart's lyrics more thought-provoking (science, literature, even satire), and Lee's bass playing is incredibly innovative.
Not to say Led Zeppelin I don't like, by no means- just between the two, it's no question for me.

Tough, but Rush fans must admit that without Zep there would be no Rush. Of course Rush may have been proggier, but Zep with Achilles Last Stand really matches up the amazing epic of Rush, 2112. As well as Stairway to Heaven and No Quarter can match any of the 2 awesome epics from Caress.
Both really incredible bands, very tough. For me, Zep has II and I as my faves. And Rush has Caress of Steel and 2112.
VERY difficult choice, but I must go for Zep.

MAN!!!!!! This is a hard one.....
I can't even vote. I love both bands...
However in the early 70's Albums ZEp is the winner, but as the band approached the end of the 70's I didn't really like them that much.
However, RUSH is the late 70's and 80's were the best band in the world..
so I guess I will vote for RUSH......
