Sharing Your Music Online

MySpace works pretty well for all of that.  

How do you download music from myspace? Ever since they changed the music interface I can't seem to download anything. Maybe I am too sleepy...

music.download.com used to be cool, but they seem to be on holiday or are just ignoring me.

soundclick is good because your song is up right away

lastfm looks a bit promising

I think last.fm works pretty well.

Myspace is the most famous but it sounds really bad and for prog rock, as prog rock songs are often quite long, it's a real problem that we can't upload mp3 bigger than 10 mo!

I tried a lot of sites, PureVolume, Soundclick, Virb, Audiostreet, Showcase Your Music and more but actually my favourite one is ReverbNation

There's different mp3 players, some cool widgets, a lot of stats... Give it a try ;)

Not sure where you read/heard this but its so wrong. Stop worrying and get your tunes online.

It says "you have the right" which means you can upload your own songs for them to basically broadcast your songs. You do not loose the rights to your songs.

Otherwise all those major labels and artists who are online on all community websites would be giving away their crown jewels.

 Bottom line is they wont pay you Royalties.

ReverbNation is really the best! There's a lot of reason for this!!

But about Facebook, I read some articles about this copyright problem, it's the same for text and photographs... I don't really know what to think...

Basically this means that you guarantee that you have the rights to the music you upload and you agree to give the same rights to the company. It doesn't say if you still have any rights to your music or not, but anyway they have the right to do just about anything they like with it.
