Again... actually a very strong album, once you appreciate how much it's drawing from the punk side of Hammill's writing. Suits Guy Evans' style down to the ground.

Pink Floyd - Saucerful of Secrets.

Actually, I have a question regarding the vocals on this album, in particular Let There Be More Light and Corporal Clegg.  The rest of the vocals are easy to pinpoint.

According to the sources I've read, it's Wright singing the verses and Gilmour singing the callback with Waters providing the whispers on Let There Be More Light, however, to me, it's always sounded as if Wright was singing the verses and Waters the callback.  Can anyone shed "light" on this?

Corporal Clegg.  I always thought it was Gilmour singing the main part of the song with Mason providing the "He wandered in the war, in 1944" type parts.  However, I've heard that Waters sang the "Ms. Clegg" part (honestly this does not sound anything like him, that sounds like Gilmour).  I've also read that Barrett sang on the song, but for the life of me I can't figure out where.  I've seen "Gilmour/Waters" as the singers and "Gilmour/Barrett" as the singers.  Of course, I've also heard that Mason sang on the song too, and always assumed it was the "He wandered in the war" parts.  Who really sang on this song? Confused

Perhaps this might be an appropriate topic for its own thread, but thought I'd give it a shot here first.

Yet another bossa nova album without the requisite bare-chested babes.  Tongue

Now.  Genesis - Nursery Cryme.  And on the new edition, the muddiness which has always plagued this album, is gone.  Clap
