Wow, honestly it would be pretty ignorant of me to comment on it any further bceause it's been ages since I've listened to it. I pretty much shelved it a couple weeks after I bought it. I might give it another go sooner or later, remind me sometime.

You should, maybe your taste has changed and/or it will have grown on you. I know many people who had to take 10+ listens on that album; TFK can be a tough listen, especially for someone who isn't initiated with them. I first had Unfold the Future and couldn't get it at all. I listened to it over and over and over and it didn't help. Then Paradox Hotel came out and I got it right after its release date as one last try. I loved it right away.

Unfold the Future still isn't in my all-time favorites by them, but I like it quite a bit.

Hmm, well I do agree with you that it takessome people a long time to get certain albums. James can attest to this, I just hated Rock Bottom (Wyatt) when it came out and he told me to not even think about it and just randomly pick it up in the distant future, and listen without judging until the end. Worked like a charm, that album really grew on me.

Yeah, it's odd when that happens. I had more of that in the past though; after 3 years of nearly all prog my ears are much more open and accustomed to many different things so most of the time albums click with me more easily. It depends on what it is though. Sometimes I may end up loving it, sometimes just liking it, sometimes it may never click. VDGG are a band that I simply don't get, for example. I mean, they're alright.

Sweet, thanks dude.
I really thought the history section was important, to give people a better understanding of why it was such an important album and more than just a thrash metal album.

Now The 5th Dimension...that's a band to worship. If I had to pick a favorite female singer, Marilyn McCoo would be it, hands down.

Finally, someone else who doesn't worship the ground VDGG walks on!Big smile Seriously though, I feel similar to how you do about them. They are good at what they do, but Hammill gets on my nerves sometimes. They're enjoyable, but only if I'm in the mood for them.

The history lesson didn't do anything for me since I already knew itLOL, but I know what you mean. I think part of why metal is somewhat controversial on this site is because some people don't fully understand the history of prog metal and it's origins in the NWOBHM, thrash metal, etc.
