While I was away in Scotland I tried some beetroot chocolate cake and it was actually OK. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. |
sure, beets have tons of sugar.. I once saw a calves liver chocolate cake, it actually looked edible

In Italy there used to be a dessert called "sanguinaccio", a rich chocolate pudding made with pigs' blood, whose sale is not allowed nowadays. I've never tried it, but I have a couple of recipes for it, which you could attempt if you lived on a farm and slaughtered your own animals .

Sorry for making fun of you, David... I know you're as happy as I am today, and Michael is even happier than the two of us!

David, I think that probably involves an old mattress in the back of a Ford Transit....

He's sleeping now... Was up until before midnight, but then he went to sleep. He's doing an important job these days, and needs his rest. I'm sure he'll show all his joy when he gets back online. At the moment, though, I am rather pissed off, because I've been waiting for the movers since 8 a.m. (even if I had been warned they would come later due to heavy traffic). I can't wait to get this over and done with... My flat looks like a damn warehouse, and I am so sad at having to part with my CDs for heaven knows how long .

I once had them in a very potent Xmas cake, long ago and far away. It made for an interesting new years eve.

We had a 'hippie' type member of staff running one of our small sites in the Lake District, a number of years ago, who made flapjack out of them, which he had kept in the catering kitchen for staff consumption only. (Fairly reliable) Legend has it, that he didn't label the plastic container as such...
I've always had this image of school children 'flying' over Great Gable...

I could have done with some of that the last time I walked up Great Gable.

certainly explains the headmaster & headmistress's behaviour:
Headmaster: "Gawd Blimey, Mary Poppins - I'm orf my bleedin' face"
Headmistress: "supercallefragelistic ex...exp....expp ially...what was I saying?"
Headmaster: "You're more out of it than me... what abaaat the kiddies?"
Headmistress: "I really fancy a pizza"

Headmaster: 'Naughty, naughty, very very naughty! Anybody got any Veras? Lovely!!!'
Headmistress: 'E's good - E's are good - E's are supercalifragilisticexpialidocious...'
For some reason that bit never made it to the final cut...

I had a senior moment then and though that said Dropstone. That band features my mate Mark. However, it's not that band. I may try and come along but I have a feeling I'm seeing Hawkwind around that time.
