the Marillion DVD to buy rather than Live at Loreley? I have "Recital of the Script" and "From Stoke Row..." seems much longer than "Loreley", I just thought I'd check what people recommended before shelling out...

If you don't like the Steve Hogarth era Marillion then stay away from "From Stoke...",because it only contains music from "Stage 2 Marillion". I like it but then,I love the Hogarth era. At least until the late 90's when I think they started to lose it spectacularly. But the "From Stoke..." dvd only covers the first couple of years of the Hogarth incarnation of Marillion so I think it's excellent. But I know Fish fans have been really disappointed with this one so if you prefer the Fish years you might want to give it a miss. However,if you like the early Hogarth years, then you should definitely get it. It has some exquisite live tracks of some of the best songs from the "Seasons End" album and videos for "Easter","Hooks In You" and "The Uninvited Guest",pluss interviews with the band and studio sessions for what was to become "Holidays In Eden". But,as I said,if you're a confirmed Fishophile, then this would probably not be for you.

I have the video of 'From Stoke..' and it is excellent. Initailly I was very sceptical that Hogarth could replace the mighty Fish but I have warmed to him over the years. I'm stunned that even today, people are split down the middle on this matter. I like 'em both.

Does anyone know if there are any 'Extras' on the DVD?

I must remind the right honourable gentleman that a monologue is not a decision.

Slightly off topic, but not worth starting another thread IMO, can anyone tell me about the film 'Brave' that Marillion done the soundtrack to.

I've read a plot synopsis, but is it watchable as well as listernable? Worth getting??

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I haven't seen the "Brave" film either and I'm also interested to hear from someone who has since I'm thinking of buying it. There are a few videos from the "Brave" album on the Marillion video collection (I forget the title of that one) and they are all excellent,do they appear in the movie or is that a completely seperate project?

Having examined the tracklisting more closely, it seems that indeed I don't want "From Stoke Row", thanks everyone, I've no idea why I thought it was Fishy...

"Brave" was shown on night time TV here some years ago. As I recall, it was very "arty". It reflected the concept well, but I can't say I found it entertaining. I don't think the band actually appear on it at all, but I have it on VHS, and will check it out sometime.
